Player bots, what can be done.

I have experienced many games whos out come is based on and number and quality of the scripts of bots on your and the enemy team, namely arram's. I know and understand that this is a difficult problem for riot to fix, and if you report them all your likely to get in trouble yourself. I tend to report only those with awful scripts that make them feed 0/20/0 ect, for unsportsmanly, and cheating.

However i think if riot added an option in endgame reports specifically for bots, maybe this would help. I was thinking this opotion would not count towards false reports, but ofc some people will always abuse it.

upvote this comment to 1000 to get riots attention on bot programs and a report option specifically for a bot

"Unauthorized third party program" I believe is the reason that is intended for bots. Simply saying bot in the description will help of course.

I think the best solution would be some form of captcha challenge. I would think Riot could implement something along those lines that would be painless enough to be effective, yet not because an extreme annoyance. Maybe it would be a common part of cueing up for a match, or it would present itself after an automated analysis, or simply a restriction as a result of reports.

This would cause too many problems, namely people reporting non bots for being bots just because they didnt like the person, similar to how "unskilled player" used to be a report specifically to get feedback on matchmaking, and ended up being a garbage dump for reporting anyone you thought did poorly, and made idiots assume you could actually get someone banned because they were bad.

I think the problem is that the system catches these too, and needs a minimum amount of evidence to be certain (otherwise we get false positives just because someone's actions aren't "normal"). Every time I hear this I also hear (and understand and agree with) that there is already a system in place, and while it's not perfect there is no way to completely prevent bots as any update to stop them will be later matched by a better bot; the fact there is a system in place that always and automatically checks for certain things means that by the time a report regarding it is processed it's likely that the account has already been flagged.

Ya I usually report them for cheating and just explain in the description why you think it's a bot and such. I always hope that by explaining it precisely, they'll take it seriously and actually check it out. Because I bet a lot of people report really bad players in vs AI (I have yet to get a suspected bot in ARAM) thinking they're bots, but they actually are just really new to MOBAs.
