I want to know why I got a 14 day-suspension when I had 0 chat restrictions. Can someone give me an example?

If you utilize hate speech or tell someone to kill themselves, Riot gives you a 2 week ban off the bat. You should not need a warning chat restriction to tell you that sort of behavior is unacceptable. You should never use those words/phrases in the first place, thus Riot escalates your punishment as you should've known better.

This is not a "joking" matter or a "slap on the wrist" matter. This is a serious offense that should not be met with a simple chat restriction.

Cursing is not inherently problematic or considered toxic and punishable. There is a difference between saying something like "Fuck, I missed my skillshot again" and "Fuck you garbage noob, you can't hit a skillshot", and this difference is taken into account.

Edit: If you meant the homophobic slur "f word", there is no situation where it's considered ok.

It's impossible to say something "not on purpose".
The "f word" that it appears you're referring to (three letters) is hate speech. It has no place in any public discourse - especially a video game. You should not need a warning to know that word is unacceptable in any public conversation. Would you say that word around your mother? Would you say that word in a restaurant?

if you got into a game and said " dude you suck, just kill your self and do the world a favor, i bet you would make your parents happy, etc.." i could understand maybe a slightly stricter punishment. than a chat ban. But if you typed "kys nunu" and no other follow up. that hardly screams cyber bullying auto 14 day ban. I use "kys" with my friends when i dont like something they do like Justin Beiber. You say its not a "joking" matter but it is. I'm not saying to my friend that he should go hang himself. And this is the problem with the report system.

Of course we are arguing over assumptions in this case as he hasnt posted his chat logs.

I'm also adding that people do have bad days and it is the internet. I believe players should be punished because they behave in toxic ways over many games and not because they said the wrong word or acronym in one game.

That is your choice, but I tend not to suggest my friends kill themselves, even as a meme. Further, you don't know how others will take it in an anonymous online environment such as League. All they see is you telling them to "kys" - they don't see you meme them, they just see "kys" and know that it means "kill yourself". If you want to turn that into a joke with your friends, I'm not here to police your real life vocabulary and interactions. However, that does not make it acceptable in a public environment such as League.

Things are taken literally here. If you say "kys" in League, you are telling someone to kill themselves, plain and simple, regardless of what it means to you in real life.

really? cuz untill a few months ago i didnt even know what kys meant. And its an acronym for crying out loud. while most might assume it to be "killyouself", which in itself is wrong since "yourself" is one word, as many have stated its easy to come up with other words that fit it. If i said to you "gfy" what would u assume?

If you didn't know what it meant, why are you using it in an online videogame? Further, if you see it used, you'd theoretically google "hey, what's this mean", of which the first results are obviously clear that it is an abusive phrase to tell someone to kill themselves.

There is no excuse for using it.

i never said i used it when i didnt know what people were using it for in league, there you go assuming again. once i did i thought it was just another silly internet idiom like ham. Then i saw a topic about it on forums and people were coming up with other words for the acronym like "kiss your sister" or "keep yourself safe". The whole point being that its an abbreviated word to mean whatever you want it to mean, its the internet for crying out loud. As i gave you an example that "gfy" can be taken multiple ways and not always ill will.

To make another point. For me "WWF" will always pop in my head as "World Wrestling Federation" First over "World Wildlife Foundation". To simply ban someone over this vagueness of context in an "online video game" where all ages play, including "adults" is just asinine.

you would think.. but see "zero tolerance" is the riot keyword here. Because they use such a policy they skip any real warning and automatically place you in a final warning known as a "14 day ban". I know it makes no sense that a final warning is ur first warning but that is the current reporting system we have. Which is stupid i know.
