is this legit play, bad play or both?

So far I find that most players at the Intro player-vs-bot level focus on what is, in other games, called "farming mid," which means maximizing the number of opposing champions killed, rather than pushing toward the enemy nexus. In a match I just finished the other four were so busy farming the bot champions in the enemy base that it was left to me alone and a few minions to go up top, destroy the last two turrets outside the base, destroy the top inhibitor, then destroy one or two of the turrets around the nexus and do 75% of the damage done to the nexus before it was destroyed.

In another match, when the nexus was close to being destoryed, another player actually shouted: "NO! WAIT!"

I need to know whether the self-glorifying, careerist approach to matches is considered legitimate or not. I'll admit that I despise it and plan to start blocking hundreds of people if it continues.

Thanks for all responses.

Players are free to do whatever they want as long as they're playing the game without intentionally losing the game in an obvious manner. In other words, yes it's legit. They aren't there to win the game but to have fun bullying bots - though sometimes they're there to test out different builds and need the gold to do so. I once stacked my Veigar to 2k ap and wanted to see if I could instant penta with w, but the team was winning so I cried out "waittt nuuu I need to do my penta mission for reward on websiteeee", "eh why did u sell all ur stuffs and bought zz'rot ohmwrecker and banner of command../gasp !!", "NOOOO Y U DO DIS 2 ME".

...wat, custom games? I'm inflicted with a sickness that'll kill me if I game alone.

Yeah, that's pretty standard in most AI games, especially the intro bots since they don't push towers (the bots don't). Blocking people won't stop them from being placed with you again btw.

As a side note, if you can somehow get one tower down in each lane the minions will push out almost constantly for you as long as the matching turret is up on your side and that way end the game faster. I know it's frustrating when people farm the bots; it should die down a bit once you move to intermediate bots.

People just farming bot kills are most likely just trying to have fun or are trying to practice whatever they are doing. The ones that want you to wait probably just want to extend that, or need more time for their First Win to kick in. It's not really a big deal in bots because you're guaranteed to win anyway, so try not to mind that they aren't pushing for the win in the most effective manner. If they do this in Ranked, well, then they won't climb and you will.

I'll admit that I despise it and plan to start blocking hundreds of people if it continues.

Blocking players only prevents them from friend requesting you and mutes them. It doesn't prevent them from being grouped with you through the matchmaking system.

The only time that I play against bots is to play a new champ or a new build. It doesn't help me to rush the end of the game because I don't get as much time to learn mechanics or test the build.
