What's wrong with being nice in the game?

Look i know a lot of people have been called a Faker or an ass about being nice in this game at least once but why? Literally I ask people how they are in game and just play...I'm not a serious full on play to win have to do rank all the time person but I enjoy making people happy and will try to help me friends win. None the less why are people so toxic about being nice? People seem to cuss and yell while your team is the same way most of the time...its sooo.....annoying. -_-

One of the problems with communicating online is that there's no inflection in your voice. So people can't differentiate between sincerity and sarcasm as well as is typical in person. This leads some people to misread sincere niceness as sarcastic niceness; which they then will blow up against.

Also some people are anti-social, or dislike joy or happiness, or etc. I myself break-out in hives if the air around me is too 'happy.' That being said, I just remove myself when that happens; so a happiness allergy, in my experience is no excuse to be rude.

All I can say is, they might be going through some stuff that may make them less friendly than they actually are. I'm no saint myself, but if you ever meet me on the Rift (which is a pretty slim chance since I rarely play anything but aram) don't get offended if I don't respond. I tend to focus on doing my role more than I do on the chat. If you see me on the Abyss, I'm more likely to respond because I'm comfortable in that mode. [vlad-salute]
