Breaking Meta=14 Day Suspension

Hi all I'm Bootygeek and I'm a bit of a newbie to league. I have been playing ranked for a little while and recently the wait times for my primary roles became too long so I started going fill. This always has me playing support which isn't my primary role but I know how to play a few champions so whatever, I'm not going to intentionally lose but my performance wont be stellar. If I don't play 'meta' supports I always get flamed hard and I recently got a 14 day suspension which is absolutely unacceptable behavior from Riot. I am not trolling and I let my teammates know that I will be playing a non-meta support and will help them to the best of my abilities but that if they flame me I will mute them for my own sanity, this is clearly communicated in champ select and some may say ranked isn't the place to try new things but I disagree, ranked is absolutely the place to try new things (provided you have taken it out into normals a few times first), this is how things become 'meta', people play new things in new roles with new builds in a competitive environment. You cant tell me ap nunu support won't ever work because you can't see into the future, protobelt makes him super deadly but he does need a few minions in lane to sustain himself from poke. There is downside but his ult is deadly with spooky ghosts and exhaust to keep everyone in it for the full effect. So why does Riot allow this? 2 week suspensions to players who are trying to find the next tank ekko and full pen lucian? I don't think I am smart enough or talented enough to find those things but its fun to try and can be great if everything goes right. This is not against the summoners code, this is not enjoying the game at the cost of others enjoyment, if they can't enjoy a game unless I conform to babysit them with soraka/leona under penalty of ban then this game isn't what I thought it was. If you agree, let Riot know, you cant ban us for not conforming to a meta.

Yeah i would of reported you also. If you do not want to support wait out the damn times. You are on a low silver account. The times are not that long.

And you would be wrong to do so. I don't need to have a relic to take cs, an ADC isn't 'entitled' to all the cs in bot lane especially if they are terrible at last hitting. 9 minutes is a decent wait in my opinion.

you do not even seem to know why you were banned in the first place. Plus supposedly being new but arguing about what you think is and is not required by certain roles. Yet i am trying to be toxic?

You think that riot was wrong is the ban, i disagree especially after your posts. I think you should continue to act the way you think you deserve to. You get to act the way you want and you will also prove that i am right and will get perma banned on that account.

You are not here to learn, you are here to prove you are right. The problem is that you are not and no one but the trolls agree with you.

You are making the game not enjoyable for your adc and your team by being a burden to them. 4v5 is not fun. To break the meta you need to be smart first, you need to know why sightstone is important in support and not having it hinders your team. You clearly don't have what it takes to be entitled to "breaking the meta" you are just a lowly silver 5 with barely any knowledge of the mechanics of the game and a hindrance for your team.

Learn to play the game, be smart and stop trolling your team in hopes of being carried.

Rank doesn't entitle you to the ability to push boundaries, that's for the player to decide and the fact that I am silver 5 has no bearing on this, I already stated that I don't think I am smart enough to make an amazing discovery but I am allowed to try.

Try it in normals with your group of friends who know the shit you are getting them into. If you involve innocents who are trying to enjoy a normal game you are just being a troll. Try your stuff with people who won't be bothered by you. When I have a teammate in my game I expect him to be reliable. You are not being reliable to your own team therefor being a hindrance.

Don't think only about yourself, its not a single player game.

Then have it explicitly stated in TOS that only 'x' champions can be played in 'y' role, if not then it shouldn't be a hindrance, every champion brings something different and fun to a team.

Did your support nunu helped your lane? helped the team? did your teemo support helped your adc? Were any of your non meta picks actually made the team easier to win?

If you cant answer any of those then you were a troll, if you don't understand what being a teammate is then you will be reported for being a troll, and it will happen until you get perma banned. The same reason we report 4v5 applies to you.

Nunu has great targeted cc in lane and an attack speed steroid for his team. His ultimate is also godlike if you get it fully channeled. Teemo support can blind the other adc so my adc can win in farm. Have you ever tried to farm with autos but everytime you go for a caster or cannon minion you get blinded by a bush lurking teemo? Its really annoying to play against. Its definitely not trolling my team for sure. Plus teemo doesn't need a sightstone because shrooms grant vision. Boom, I just answered these questions effectively, without being toxic, and explained my position in a reasonable manner, I am not being a troll and don't deserve a ban.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that when you die 19 times as Kat support, you're trolling. It's not the off-meta pick, it's what you're doing with them.

Well, first, you've been playing for at least a year, so you're not that new. Second, 19 deaths takes some effort. That's a death about every two and a half minutes.

Support Nunu is actually fine, non meta but actively useful. Teemo ergh not so much, really only useful in the laneing phase, with the blind to win trades but afterwards he doesn't offer enough. I'd be annoyed but still deal with it

Kat is not and never will be a support that is active trolling, she offers 0 as a support to the team, she is all damage.

The important thing is did you buy item 2049 ?

Sightstone is a supports most effective tool. Not building it is like a Jungler that doesn't take Smite, it's dumb and it will hurt your team.

While I agree with this.. not building it is NOT against TOS.. And there actually have been numerous debates on these boards as to whether the current incarnation of SS is in fact "mandatory" for supports..

In and of itself, no. But when you combine the build path + the deaths + the cs + whatever else we haven't noticed from the games themselves then it starts to look like trolling.

If you want some actual help then please post your Reform Card here (the entire Reform Card, not just bits and pieces of it). I will say though that you aren't banned for breaking the meta-you're banned for creating a negative experience for the other people in-game. From the Tribunal FAQ:

Can I be banned for not playing the meta? Players are not banned by the Tribunal for not playing the meta; they are banned for consistently creating negative experiences for others.

We have data suggesting that reviewers of Tribunal cases are very thoughtful and accurate in their verdicts, so if you were reported for not playing the meta but were being a positive player, you can expect to be judged fairly.

In general, players should feel empowered to play what they want and to try new strategies; however, this does not give you a license to be disrespectful or rude to your fellow gamers.

no matter what you pick in terms of champion for support, even if it's some shit like graves, it's not bannable. not getting sightstone is also not bannable. I've never heard of taking the adc's cs as being bannable - though i don't do it. I feel like if you were 14-day banned, there had to have been something else.

for context: i play heavily off-meta when i'm not playing my main champ. I used to spam ADC leblanc and Orianna, jayce jungle, support urgot, AP corki, zac, and twitch mid, jungle karma, etc. all of this in ranked. I have never been so much as warned.

solution. dont chat ingame. then you can play nonmeta supports without getting banned

if you ever chat ingame, you risk being banned

chances are your chat was toxic in riots view.

As always, no, this is not how the system works. Playing outside the meta is not a punishable offense, you may get banned for gameplay offenses whether you chat or not, and from what he gave us it doesn't sound like the reason given for his punishment was chat offenses.

Just because you feel wronged by the system doesn't mean you need to derail every thread with intentional misinformation, please stop.

Well does it say I have to build a sightstone in TOS? I place lots of wards, I built spooky ghosts, and I poke with my snowball, what more do you want? I don't have to conform to YOUR meta, I can make my own, its a community game and just because most people agree on supports only being champions X,Y, and Z doesn't mean the rest of us agree. You can report but that isn't the spirit of the game and I have put in a support ticket. I am just trying to let people know that the whole breaking the meta thing will result in a suspension/ban if you have a few bad games and that we need to make that stop.

Nah I don't rage, its not in my nature. I just don't conform to standards that everyone else has, and I shouldn't have to. I'm not trying to make the game unenjoyable, I'm trying to have fun within the given framework in my own way.

Generally it's better to ask your teammates if they're okay with it first before you do it so they're not taken by surprise once you get in-game. If they say no and you do it anyway then you're in the wrong and potentially creating a negative experience for them as well also. Again, breaking the meta by itself is not bannable, it's doing it while also acting up and being a jerk at the same time that's bannable.

P.S. I'm still waiting on that Reform Card from you. Check your email/spam folder and the game client for it.

I will show my support ticket when I get that, I can't remember the password to the email I used and I don't know how to access my card from the client, it wont let me do anything at all.

if you ASK RIOT to post your chat logs, that means you really believe you werent "toxic" and you are giving riot permission to come and show your chatlogs

Muting a flaming teammate is not actionable, however telling them you are going to mute them IS.

Perhaps AP nunu Isn't the hidden op but instead tank nunu with frozen heart and 40% cdr. Nunu's E and R both slow Attack speed as well. 25%(E) + 25%(R) + 15%(Frozen Heart) = 44% AS slow. Also good peel for your marksman.

As someone who plays all roles in case she gets stuck in something other than the role she wants which happens, I will elaborate on why taking the ADC's CS is bad.

ADCs need the CS, all of it. They are farm heavy and need to build their items quickly. However, they have to compete with the enemy ADC by zoning them out to deny them farm before they do it first. By taking your ADC's CS, you're denying them farm and aiding the enemy team in an indirect way. The longer it takes your ADC to build, the more likely it will be for the other ADC to have their power spike and wreck your team. That is why you build a support item.

i don't know, if you think nunu support is so deadly why aren't you winning with him? you have a 14% win rate on him and some games where you have 15 or 16 deaths.

you also might have mentioned that you are going to feed in game, which flags the system.
