I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but this new ban system is bullshit, honestly. My friend was banned after being given two warnings (which were both mutes) and then he was banned for calling someone a f*****. What I dont understand is how some people get more chances to turn around bad behavior than others. Just an example, but IWDominate was warned a total of eight times before his account was finally banned. I get it, hes a pro player, and were just casuals, but is that really fair? I talked to one of my other friends about this and he just said to mute them and stop flaming like an idiot, which I think is really good advice, but at the same time it doesn't solve the problem at all. The amount of frustration that builds from being trolled in ranked games is just ridiculous. And all I get from the higher ups in the community is learn to deal with it, and learn to carry. What I don't get is why trolls aren't banned as frequently as "toxic players", because in essence they're both toxic. Riot has the money to higher more staff to review games to weed out actual problems in the community, because your right, if someone is toxic just mute them. But after getting the same troll in your game three times in a row in promos, without the ability to dodge, well lets see how many of you dont become toxic yourself. Its like that time Dotot (who still hasn't been punished) trolled Imaqtpie and dominate for five games straight; except for lower level players, this is almost every other game. All I'm saying is that riot has the money and the potential tools to be more fair in how they ban people, but they take the easy way out and just ban "toxic players" who are really people who were antagonized first. Why they dont go after the other side of the problem as well, I dont know. And if your banned they "don't even take money into account", we know what they really means. What a bunch of snakes.Cassiopeia

  1. IWD was brought to the tribunal a total of 9 times, but that was under the old system. With the new system you get:

-10 game chat restriction -25 game chat restriction -14 day ban -permaban

IWD is/was a good player, but he had all of his accounts banned. He didn't get to keep anything from his old accounts. The same thing happened to Incarnation. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2864421&page=1#post32080366

  1. Homophopic speech gets punished very harshly.

  2. Trolls aren't punished as quickly because they are much harder to catch. Remember, it's not against the rules to build off meta or have a bad game. And hiring people to watch games for trolls, would be really impractical. Let's say that in 1 day, there are 1 million reports for trolling worldwide all servers, and the average game length is 30 minutes. Let's say that Riot hires 1000 people to watch and try and catch these trolls (remember Riot itself is only about 2000 employees big), and they work a max of 40 hours per week. So in all we have 2 million hours of gameplay to sort through (because it would be super easy to cut footage and "prove" that X person was trolling, you really need to see the whole video in order to get a fair judgement) and a grand total of 40,000 man hours. It would take that staff 50 weeks to go through the footage of that 1 day's worth of reports. So even increasing the size of the company by 50% (which is a huge cost in saleries, health care, building costs, computers etc.) and dedicating them to catching trolls, just wouldn't really work. Not to mention that Riot would have to store all of that video on their servers, that's a lot of memory. On low quality you're talking 2 gigs of data.

  3. DoToT did get punished, he just got a 14 day suspension.

Other people being a problem does not give you the right to become one as well. And what's your point about the money argument? It's not their money anymore, it's Riot's. They willingly gave it to Riot in return for skins or champions or what have you. So it's no longer "their" money. It belongs to Riot. And calling someone a f***** is considered hate speech and is grounds for an automatic permanent ban. So I have no sympathy, nor should anyone else.

Because trolls still spend money. Because being toxic can actually cost riot money. Example. Lots of children/ minors play league , shocking right, but so if a parent were to see someone being toxic to their child, then they will not let their child play league, and therefore won't spend any money to buy their child those precious rp for stuff. Same with adults. We live in a sensitive community. Its more likely someone would quit league due to toxicity in comparison with just facing trolls. Not to mention the fact that season 6 offers dynamic q, so just find four people on your friend list and group up....guess what the troll problem is solved on your end . riot wants money. Can't hate them for that. Toxicity drives away money. And people who are toxic over a videogame, be it over trolls or whatever, are no better than the trolls they hate. And in general its not just trolls that bring out toxicity either. Some people are just douche bags and deserved to be banned period. If u can't have self control when it comes to a videogame , then I pray to god that a person like that doesn't hold a position of power in real life , CU's that would be horrible.

If you are downvoting this thread because you don't want to hear about other peoples problems well guess what, you are the problem. The solution starts somewhere and why not here? If only riot actually cared for their fanbase on not about raking in the dough.

This is a video game, not real life so the whole "get out of jail free" thing you were trying to say doesn't apply here. New system or not everyone deserves a fair chance no matter how long ago this was the principle still applies.

If your friend called someone the n-word, he would have gone straight to a ban with no warning at all.

Randomonium3/13/2016, 7:36:11 PM1 votes

You're talking about two completely different time periods. Back when IWDominate got banned it was common for people to get 8 warnings before getting banned. However, that has changed in the past year or two. Now you get a MAXIMUM of 4 strikes. 2 chat bans, a 14 day ban, and then a permanent ban. That's it. Everyone is held to the same standard. And if your behavior is considered really bad you can jump levels. Also, pros are held to a MUCH higher standard now. Xaioweixaio can attest to that.

Riot has said they are working on catching trolls better and that they will be rolling out new improvements to the tribunal soon. That said, you are never justified in flaming someone. And besides, the whole reason people troll is to get a reaction out of you so stop giving them what they want! Mute them, report them and move on.

And if you get a ranked game with a troll in it for the love of God don't immediately queue back up again. You run a huge risk to get paired up with that person again since you both queued up at the same time and are at the same MMR. Literally all you have to do is wait 5 minutes and you'll never get paired up with the same people twice.

Just an example had a game where I went 100-0-0 Team fed and I was LIKE U FUCKING IDIOTS I'M TRYING TO CARRY YOU NOOBS NOW OBEY THE CARRY LORD IM FAKER JR RESPECT ME FAKER JR. One member leaves (afk) One rages at me FAKER JR, One keeps on feeding, and the One other person the last person on the team just listens as the casually farms, gets objectives etc. As the game ends and your team loses, The AFK will NOT be punished why he was the one that left sometimes you don't always get punished for leaving a bad situation same thing in life if friends are going to steal stuff out of a store if you leave you will not be punished with the (crime) but with a AFK. THE FEEDER will NOT be punished as bad games do happen. Pros haven them and BRONZE players have them. THE QUIET ONE will NOT be punished as they were quiet and just did what they could even if it wasn't much. THE RAGE PLAYER..... Not everyone has the same amount of chances in life some people will get a few too many "get out of jail free cards" others will be made an example out of its that simple.
There are no Born Toxic people just people who choose to be toxic

  1. Mute everyone
  2. Move on

"All Hail Riot Games" is all I'm seeing in these comments.

I think its funny that when people talk bad about a broken system that they get downvoted automatically. Yall hold riots hands like yall hold Ls

Inject The Memes3/12/2016, 7:10:44 PM1 votes

And no matter what happens if you afk during a match you will get leaverbustered so that statement is false. As for the feeder all riot has to do is look at recent history and if they are trolls and have multiple reports from a single game from them feeding then they are feeding. Its not rocket science. And the person keeping quiet, good on them. As for the toxic person no matter what was said you shouldn't be banned from a game you consistently pay money for. And as for toxcicity going down there are just as many toxic ppl on this game as there was 2 years ago when I started. So this new system is punishing ppl for a basic human emotion that some people have a hard time controlling, Its just who they are. They shouldn't be permabanned from a video game for it. Its a game, you don't like being talked shit to hit the mute button. Turn off the game. SO many options why permaban a consistent player? Its flawed and stupid as hell. If you don't agree well I don't care, Hit the mute button sissies.
