Banned because somebody trolled my ranked game.

So basically, a whole section of logs was from a game that was ranked, this nidalee was afking and the irelia was trolling, so I was begging them to stop because it was my promos, so I told them to grow up, Irelia decided to not troll and int anymore, but nidalee claimed she could not continue playing because she was a smurf and did not want to get tilted on her smurf account. I strongly believe that I should not lose all of my honors because of this game. The second game was a normal, and I was just having fun saying funny things in the all chat, and the enemies were even saying some back. It was ALL a joking matter in the second game. Please reconsider this two week ban, and please reconsider taking all of my honors away.

So, there is never an excuse for toxicity. Depending on your punishment history and your chat logs, the punishment sounds like it may very well be warranted. It'd help if you post your logs so we can see them.

As I said, however, there is never an excuse for toxicity. It does not matter if "he started it" or if "it was just me defending myself" - it is not okay and there is no excuse or justification.

You continually harassed the nidalee in the first game, and in the second there's quite a few insults which are nowhere near obviously "joking" as you claim.

I am presuming you've had prior chat restrictions that should've served as your warning this sort of behavior is unacceptable.

The existence of a tool to mitigate damage does not change the malfeasance committed.

For a real life example, the existence of airbags does not give everyone else the right to run into your car. The existence of bulletproof vests that police wear do not give you an excuse to go shoot at a police officer.

Really though? So I get trolled, and I lose my promos, and in return I get a two week ban, no rewards for working my butt off to get platinum, lose all of my honors, and access to free rewards???? Maybe my first chat restriction would have been a more fitting punishment??

You are not rendered ineligible for rewards, assuming you can climb back in honor to level 2 before season's end. It is completely possible to do such, as many people have reached honor 2 within a couple months after a 2 week ban.

Like I said, you should submit a support ticket and ask them why your punishment was escalated to a 2 week ban immediately. If you used any form of hate speech or told someone to harm themselves, or other things that are extremely and grossly inappropriate like that in pre/post game lobby, then it would make sense.

Again, you were not punished for getting trolled, you were not punished for losing your promos. You were punished solely and completely based on your retaliation.

If the ban was escalated in error, they will reduce it to a chat restriction - it has happened before. Sometimes the system gets a tad overzealous in punishment. Only support can determine if that's the case here.

Submit a ticket. Their support sites are very out of date and that's mainly there to hopefully curb the people who submit tickets asking "please unban me" when all they did was spam the n word the entire game.

If your punishment was inappropriately escalated to a higher level than was warranted, they will reduce it for you.

Good comparison of cars and airbags, and flaming with mute buttons. Your comparison is hardly fair for two main reasons, first the bodily harm that comes from people running into people is far more severe than that of some spitfire on the internet, and second, air bags don't mitigate all the damage whereas the mute button completely shuts a person up.

As with the police example, that is a crime whereas talking shit on the internet isn't a crime buddy. Why not come up with better comparisons? We aren't even in the realm of crime here, but people who work for Riot seem to think there is some crime being committed with shit talking, I assure you there isn't. The only crimes you can have are capably intended threats, hacking, and hacking to steal. There might be a few more, but those are the main ones. Harassment isn't a crime on a game, its BS and you know it. You can mute anyone you like, so harassment is virtually impossible. Real harassment is when someone continues to bother you non-stop after being told to cease. One league game isn't enough time to even be considered legal harassment, and sexual harassment over the internet is about as much of a bullshit thing as bullying. Mute buttons work man, I am telling you.

If you don't want people talking shit then get rid of the chat in the game, because the internet will always talk shit because its mostly guys, who talk shit.

this is called "harassing" i understand very well of your situation but you must not tilt or rage like this, it's far more common to be banned over verbal abuse than intentional feeding, the days of freedom of speech has long gone unless the company doesn't give a damn about the community. i even have friends who were banned for saying "kid" or saying "report" a player which is questionable but yours is quite self explanitory.

fortunately you haven't been banned permanently, do not let these trolls get to you and make sure not to make the same mistake again as the next penalty will be severe! beware of the permanent ban (i mean it probably doesn't hurt much unless you bought skins since you can level up an account from scratch in no time.)

there are always unskilled players that is fortunate enough to get carried by the other 2-3 good players if they some how don't feed to the point their team can't carry them and there is nothing we can do but surrender as soon as possible (which isn't likely because these feeders or someone on your team doesn't want the game to end so soon) the game is unbalanced, the burst is ridiculous so it's only natural that the bad players drag your whole team down..

(another bad mistake players make is that when you have a player with a bad game, you ignore their lane completely.. hell i was bot and i roamed the lane that died twice and had no way that lane was going to win, and that three times i roamed helped him to the point he turned the tables.)

i feel that people were always sensitive but nobody seemed to care enough to notice that people get offended, just because they are behind the screen doesn't mean they can be hurt, people have feelings and it being an internet isn't an excuse to mistreat others which is why some of the countries in asia started to put people in jail for internet harassment.

it's quite amusing if you think about it, being able to sue someone for insulting them on a game and have them go to jail or pay a fine XD

Muting always helps... ever heard the saying "out of sight, out of mind"? If you cant see the person firing back to you, then you in turn are far less likely to keep harassing them. This is common sense, and if you cant comprehend this simple of a solution, such as just shut your mouth and quit being toxic back to people, then you deserve to be banned. It doesn't matter if its your demotion game to Bronze 5, or your promotion to Diamond 1. That is irrelevant and doesn't change a damn thing about how you should act. Yes you are correct the community is incredibly toxic and quick to send people to the firing squad. The trick is you Cant let it get to you. Ive been playing this game since 2010, i've been targeted and flamed in every possible circumstance imaginable, but i've never been restricted or punished in anyway cause i know there is no point in retaliating or reacting. Let Riot do their job, dont try to do it for them. You gotta just realize its a game, and it happens.

For example - I'm holding my gf/bf hand, if someone will say that he deeply offended by it you will probably say that it is his problem.

keep selfish opinions to yourself, just because you don't get harassed or disagree doesn't mean you can belittle others, you aren't the victim and you have no idea how others feel to be on the receiving end.

cyber bullying is actually a thing, some players harass or pk people constantly on various mmorpgs to the point they are forced to log out of the game to avoid them, don't be a selfish just because you're not being harassed doesn't mean it's alright for everyone else to be harassed.

if they broke the rules, they deserve to be punished. muting them doesn't teach them anything, they will move on to the next victim to abuse in the same game or the next game.

I personally think chat restrictions are silly, i think Riot could implement punishments more effectively if they went something like this instead :

Warning 7 - Day Ban 14 - Day Ban 1 - Month Ban 3 - Month Ban Permanent Ban

i've seen a bunch of friends laugh at chat restriction bans with no remorse of what they did, only to realize they actually fucked up when they get to the 14 and Perma mark.

But truly, a chat restriction would have been a wake up call, as it should have been because I should have gotten one... Yea, i think the initial punishments are too light and too many, and their heavy bans are too few and severe. 2 warnings and 2 chat restrictions is too petty imo. people dont realize they done fucked up till a game ban gets put on.

Granted i am generalizing here, some people do learn and reform just from a warning or chat restriction.

Riot will get back to you, and get to the bottom of your case. Ive dealt with player support many times and they are always friendly and can usually pull some strings to assist players. But then again, ive never gone to them for reasons of punishment.
