Queue dodge needs a harsher penalty

I have played this game since before season 1 and I mostly play solo queue games. I have been challenger level, diamond, gold, and recently in silver with the new flex queue. I have played for many years, some good and some bad. The number one complaint I have always had with this game is the queue dodging. There is nothing more frustrating than going though this long champion select, being excited about a pick, getting to 10 seconds until game launch and then.....dodge. Once this happens multiple times in a row, you kinda stop caring about who you play and what lane you are in. You start thinking about just getting into a game. Sometimes you mess up your runes/masteries. Other times you forget to take smite when it assigns you jungle. You certainly don't care about your teammates or what they are strategizing because well, someone will probably queue dodge again. I haven't actually kept track but I think on average I have to experience 2 queue dodges before each game I play. This is absolutely ridiculous and needs to be changed. Follow the example CS:GO has set into place. Each time you ban its a harsher penalty. Eventually its a ban from ranked games.

Again, this is a problem that has plagued my league of legends experience for many years. I don't post much on the forums but this is something I feel strongly about and will make the game a much better and less toxic place.

Not trying to be pretentious but original OP sounds you sound completely acerebral. People have emergencies come up where they have no choice BUT to leave. I always tell my teammates why and if they don't get over it so be it, Trips to the hospital for sick grandparents and phone calls about job interviews are considerably more important that leaving a league game. I had to leave one the other day because by girlfriend came home crying. I told them, it was ranked, no ban, they understood. Just don't be toxic, encourage teammates even when they are having a bad game and maybe they'll leave less.

Cheers and better luck to you -Murks from Lake Chuck

You should really ask yourself before pressing the button, "Do I have at least 1 hour of my time to play this match". I understand that once in a blue moon, people have to leave. That's why the penalty should start out soft. If the dodging is reoccurring, it gets harsher. Eventually(10+ dodges over 20 games queued) it becomes a permanent ban, its a very simple but effective solution to this major problem

You are missing the point of my entire post. I was silver in the new flex queue which averages the solo queue rating with team rating. My team rating is non existent so I was silver for a brief period. Also there is a direct relationship with how much I play vs my rating. My games played has dropped significantly since season 2.

Yeah, because it's better to go full troll so someone else will dodge right?

Look you can have your argument and your different experience but I see posts about making the punishments less harsh more often and I personally think that the grounds they have right now are perfectly fine as it is fair but not overboard. What is 10 LP for 40 minutes of your time?
