I got banned for wifi problems

Why is this fair to players? I got a 10 minute probation for 5 games because my wifi disconnected in the beginning of a game..... like. What?

Considering the fact that your teammates has to deal in a 4v5 situation, be it the disconnection being on purpose or accidentally, I'd say it's fair you got punished.

Btw, if you mean you got permabanned, then it shows that you have been doing this a lot often. So it would still be fair since you refuse to fix the problem.

Leaving once due to a disconnection or whatever should not be punished straight, and you will only be given a warning. But if you were to be punished right away from your last game, then it indicates that you have left more than 1 game.

And like I said, it doesn't matter if the disconnection was on purpose or not, you still gave your teammates a bad time to deal a full 20minutes of a 4v5 situation.

To arrive at a 10 minute punishment a few things needed to happen. First, you needed to acknowledge the leaver buster system warning. You then had to show a pattern of leaving that would give you a 5 minute leaver penalty. You then had to escalate beyond that to a 10 minute penalty.

If all of this is caused by your wifi router, I would suggest you try to resolve the problem before playing any more games. As the previous poster stated, there are 9 other people that were affected by you disconnecting. I understand your situation can be frustrating, but realize how frustrating it is for others as well.

The acknowledgment is about accepting OR NOT PLAYING. so not accepting THEIR GAME RULES - you decline playing it.

Because it wasn't your teams fault that they played 5v4 and you left games in the past too in order to get from 5 minute to 10 minute waiting time

Be glad you got those 10 minute wait for each game, as this is only the beginning of a straight route to being permabanned. I'm very sure there's a limit to it, like needing to complete 10 games or something (I was never punished before, so I dunno how the punishment system works).

Take the time to reform, and go fix your computer & wifi. I highly suggest you switch to Ethernet instead of Wifi, and this would give you a more stable connection.

dont use wifi? Like seriously wifi is not good for gaming.

Wifi uses a protocol like TCP IP to verify packets are not being lost from your machine to the router. Then it will decrypt them to and then send them out as UDP cause TCP IP is horrible for gaming. If you lose a packet from computer to router (AND YOU WILL A LOT OF THEM) the computer is requested to resend the now junk data that is being thrown away. That is not to mention the fact that the wireless part of your router almost another machine and can have errors that do not effect the routing it self.

Riot has stated wifi is not the optimal setup and should not be used if their is a choice. Also if your internet goes out you would still get punishments anyways(if a constant problem). It is your choice to play on a sub standard system / set up.

So yes you deserve what you got.

not too mention if you around other routers, or in an apartment building, your signal would be affected by the other services that other people are using.

I'd look for ways to fix your wifi, and internet services. Do that and you have better streaming, better ping, download, upload, and so on. It seems like solving that problem would fix the rest of them.
