I got banned from my account for these three game chats and I dont get what I said that was worth a ban? Game three the enemy team was roasting me for nothing. The only times I said anything were when I was roasted I dont understand. How did this warrant a ban

They may not be as far along in their punishment progression as you, or may not have quite gotten enough games reported to trigger action on their accounts yet. They did not "go free" so much as they weren't quite at the point where a punishment triggered.

yea sure you can. but you get punished for it. let me explain when ONE (1) person reports you. you get flagged for the system to check your chat. when 1000 ppl report you... you get flagged for the system to check your chat.

realize something? right. its not about the mass reporting, its about the quality. and saying/asking to report just adds toxicity to the game. thats why its a rulebreak.

If you are looking for understanding, you came to the wrong place.

These forums are just a trolling sess-pool of suck-ups and people pretending to be saints lol. Due to Riot's carebear 'safe space' rules the trolls have had to reinvent how they go about it.

You are just going to be flamed, and told that you should have been the bigger person, turned the other cheek, and/or ignored/muted them and reported after the game.

This game is just going to continue to go downhill bc of stuff like this, and Riot can't seem to figure out why, even though the answer is right in front of them.

If it wasn't a perm ban, don't worry about it. Just start muting everybody as soon as you get in game, because apparently they would prefer that over you saying anything even REMOTELY 'offensive' to someone....even though there is also a specific report option for "refusing to cooperate/communicate with team"...lol...

They are just all over the place with their rules, and contradict themselves constantly.

And/or do what everyone else does and just make a smurf to go troll around on...that way you ruin the game experience for all the new players, which is all that Riot has accomplished with their ridiculous rules.

They'll wave around all sorts of cool little 'stats' and stuff, too, lmao....good thing (for them) that most of the people who play this game are too young, dumb, and/or inexperienced in life to know that those kinds of 'stats' are just bullsh** 'fluff' to try and convince everyone...themselves included...that what they are doing is having a positive effect on the game.

It's not. I've played since the game first started, and the amount of trolls/toxic players is higher now than it ever has been.

You can say something about some-one's behaviour without being offensive or toxic you know... You make it sound like its bad that people say "you should be the bigger man", but I fail to see how this is a bad thing...in the 4 years that I've played, I've never been reprehended for toxic behaviour and I don't mute anyone...I know this must sound exactly like what you say about people claiming to be saints...but it's really not that hard to just be nice or supportive :/ In stead of saying someone is bad/feeding, say what exactly they are doing wrong and maybe give a suggestion to how they can do it better. Cand, thanks for your post. I believe you, and it's not hard to do...the difference here is how you go about it.

You are sharing with us how to avoid toxicity, but you are doing so with humility.

Most of the people around here are very condescending, and it's even more infuriating than the trolls that got a lot of us banned in the first place.

Most of us are not inherently toxic players. I'd be willing to wager, even, that the MAJORITY of us don't LIKE toxic players/trolls, which is why we got triggered by them and basically 'tricked' or 'baited' in to raging on them so that they could report us and get our accounts banned.

All the while, Riot employees and Forum-goers alike just condescend, flame, and tell us we should have been the bigger/better person.

Well, we're not all perfect and we didn't used to HAVE to be in order to play this game.

Maybe a tip for avoiding toxicity: I once had one of those days (you probably know it) that every game was going shit and I was obviously getting triggered...but in stead of getting agressive over chat...I just tried being "uber" nice...like puke worthy....and I must say, it gave me the same gratification as yelling, but it didn't give the other person the feeling that I was flaming them...on the contrary, they were playing better and actually listened to the tips I gave...I doubt this will work on actual trolls...Though I must say that I have never noticed anyone actually trolling as bad as some people suggest they do...

But yea whatever....The short of it is that people on the boards should calm the f down and listen to each other before pointing fingers...everything happens for a reason ^^

It's funny you mention the "puke worthy" 'niceness' haha, because I actually started doing that after my 14-day...like every time I wanted to call someone an 'idiot' or anything of the sort, really, I would just call them a "silly goose" lmao...and it felt really good! I also found that people were much more receptive to any advice that I gave, etc...which is kind of my point...like I really WAS trying...I really AM...

Still, I don't agree with this automated Perm banning for what a computer deems 'toxic'

If someone engages me with certain language/diction, and I respond in kind, that's not toxic...?

How can it be when they obviously have no problem with it?

How can they have a problem with it when they were just talking to me, or to my teammates like that?

Putting aside the FACT that 'toxicity' is subjective in the first place, and without CLEAR AND UNDERSTOOD GUIDELINES there's NO way people should be losing entire accounts PERMANENTLY over it...ESPECIALLY not by an AUTOMATED system...The ONLY times (post-14day) I was even REMOTELY 'toxic' -I believe- are when other players were attacking my teammates and/or myself and disrupting their/our gameplay.

I literally feel like I/my brother got baited in to a perm ban by these trolls that know how the system works and play it to get these exact results, and THAT is why I was/AM so infuriated by this crap.

But yea, I totally agree that a permanent ban from the game is just incredibly harsh...especially if its automated...I mean, there can be multiple things that happen in a game and a computer might not see the intricate details of the situation...

However, to say that it is completely OK to just respond in kind to a toxic person/troll, is a bit....well I feel it's the wrong mindset...Sure I do understand what you mean, but just like in real life, responding in aggression only harbours more aggression. I'm not saying that you are making the game any worse, or you are the one at fault, but I'm saying that it's a bad principle in general, both in game and in life.

I wouldn't know if there are actually people in games that try to bait you into getting banned (I surely have never noticed it)...Maybe its just the person I am or that I'm just naive, but I can't wrap my head around the thought of someone deliberately trying to get people banned...I mean you don't even know these other people, they are just trying to enjoy a game...why would anyone do something so horrible...I want to believe you, but my mind says...naaaaaaah, surely people can't be THAT bad... Maybe they are out there, dispite my good belief in the community, but then I think that they are very few in number, and that the majority of these first degree toxic players are just people like you and me that got really fed up with bad games or something else in life...Not saying these people are innocent, since they shouldn't have started a game to begin with...but responding to such a person with more aggression will just make his/her situation worse I believe...See my point?

I really hope that you and your brother get your accounts back :( I can't imagine losing my account...I put so much time (and money) into it...I really think that, at least for perma bans, Riot should put a real person on it...to see what happened...But yea I'm just a summoner and Riot is a big company...I'm sure they ahve their reasons (or I'm just naive...).

The way I look it is this...

Trolls are just online bullies.

Sometimes, the best way to shut a bully up is to find someone who will stand up to them, and someone that can put them in their place.

I've been trolling since Diablo II/CS 1.4/1.5 days...I teach multiple classes on trolling, in fact...so there is nobody better equipped to deal with these bullies than myself, in my professional opinion.

You can't just ignore/report/taddle-tell on bullies. They like the attention. They like seeing that they got a rise out of you. They LIKE being ignored, bc it means they got to you. THAT is why this game is continuing to go downhill, as I've said multiple times. Because the REAL trolls don't care about getting perm banned, lol. They just go make another accnt, and it's fun to them bc now they get to be around all of the new players again...the people who AREN'T as accustomed to dealing with that kind of shit...the people whose experience IS completely ruined by these people.

So while I understand where you are coming from when you say that responding to aggression with more aggression only harbours ADDITIONAL aggression...sometimes that IS exactly what the situation REQUIRES...because most of these people's bark is WAY worse than their bite, and they are VERY quick to turn tail and 'run away' when faced with conflict.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've had trolls on my team, and after I shit on them they stfu and play and we win.

Undoubtedly the naysayers will tell you I'm wrong, but they can't really argue with factual results from personal experience and, again, I've been playing this game since Alpha/Beta

As for your naivety...I mean, I'm not trying to be rude, but I would have to agree that you are a little...lol...there are some very sick and twisted people in this world, my friend...so, unfortunately, they ARE 'that' bad...and FAR worse, actually.

As I've alluded to, and straight up said before, Riot CREATED these people...they created them when they ban people like myself for simply using 'hurtful' words. Once you take away everything we've worked so hard for, we literally have nothing to lose lol...so why not?

Because we're not children, obviously...that's why not...but, unfortunately, not everyone shares my sentiment or possesses my maturity, you know?

I appreciate your well wishing, as well, lol...although my brother did not lose HIS account, it was just me...but as you said before (I think it was you?) 'everything happens for a reason'.

I have another account that I still have fun on, although I don't/WON'T play this game anywhere NEAR as much bc I don't want to support such a twisted, dumb company with no understanding of how the internet works, and who tries to control things that are literally beyond their control...oh, and who sells out on the regular- just look at all the bullshit ads they are shoving down our throats now on LCS streams, lmao.

Riot has fallen QUITE a ways since the beginning, and it's very sad.

but the game is still pretty fun, so I'll still be playing.
