Riot, please. This is just so absurd. It's ILLEGAL everywhere else, why is it ok in your game?
I hope it's clear to you how concerned I really am about this. So much so that while I want to play the game I simply do not have the energy to have to deal with the 90% of people who will begin flaming either after you die once or they do, often times even becoming angry when you make a simple request such as, "Please try, even with the lag" or "Please play safer". Like I said, it all really comes down to this Riot. Why is this acceptable? Don't tell me it's not, because if it wasn't it wouldn't be around. I've played online games for years and years, long before you ever even existed, and I never had to worry about this with any of them. Why is it only you Riot? Is it laziness? Are you too cheap to hire a small team to actually provide community oversight? Do you just not care? I could take completely reasonable stabs in the dark all day but I would love to hear an answer from someone within this utterly confused and clearly unable to control their players company. "One punishment is usually enough to keep players from..." blah blah blah. I don't believe that, none of my friends or followers do and I know you don't either. Toxic assholes will be toxic assholes whether you temp-ban them or not. How many times (just the times that were recorded, I'm quite sure that's only a small percentage even) was someone banned for flaming only to immediately make another account, queue for a game, and resume the flaming all the same? If you are so ignorant that you think that is an isolated incident then I don't really know why I'm even wasting the time to type any of this out. NEWS FLASH: That is what EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM DOES! And go ahead and come back with, "well if they keep doing it eventually they get an IP ban". Oh yeah? Eventually? So how many times am I allowed to call someone a "Useless %%%got piece of shit that should uninstall and kill themselves." before I get in trouble? How many different accounts in how many different games would i have to RUIN for 9 other people trying to actually play before you took any action at all? How many people would have to actually listen to me and go kill themselves before you pull your heads out of your asses and realize that this kind of behavior is not acceptable anywhere else on this planet and that it should not be accepted in any form, for any reason, in a video game? I sincerely hope soon before you have blood on your hands. I really do. Hell Riot, put me in charge. You want to be verbally abusive on the Rift? First time, 1 week ban. You want to keep it up? Hope you didn't like this game very much because that's a permanent IP ban. Take it from someone who has played since S3, received the top 10% honor badges and has maybe been reported two or three times in the entirety of that time, and I question the validity of those, that it just not that hard to not be an asshole. It's really not. The fact that Riot seems to think that being a normal human being is such a challenge for most people that they would allow people to behave in this way over, and over, and over, and over and over again is nothing short of sickening. And the first person that comments "just mute them" is just a sick as Riot. Really? So what you're telling me is that instead of removing abusive players from the game, those of us that are tired of it and or just don't want to hear it should have to alter the way we play in order to accommodate them, you sheep?
EDIT: Upon doing a couple hours of deep research into Riot and their business practices, talking to several correspondents in the process, I was able to attain some new information. As it were, they are doing a lot in the background that is never mentioned for some reason, which if this entire forum post doesn't prove, is a grievous oversight. People are not going to spend that level of time to research and moreover most people don't have the same people to get in touch with to get this information. They will go on what they perceive, as I did. If Riot would at least give us long time players who have had to run the gambit of verbal harassment from "your mama" jokes to "kill yourself and uninstall" the slightest hint that they actually are working very hard to deal with it, things like this might be avoided. At any rate, I harbor no resentment against Riot in the end for this now that I do know they are actually trying. I just wish the common player knew that.
