I just discovered why Riot think people prefer to play in premades: Then you don't have to deal with flamers that often.

Yes, this is a rant.

Again and again I have games with flamers. And flamers. And premades that flame. Most of the time I make one remark ("Said the useless 0/3/0 ADC to the 0/4/4 support") and mute them, but today I kinda broke (long days on university tend to do that). Often I read in chat that someone keeps on raging all game long (team that responds to nothing), and I really can't believe these people are nice in other games.

But this brings me to the main gist of the topic: I was wondering if I would buy some RP, haven't done it in a while and there are some nice sales coming (Mecha Zero Sion, Championship Thresh, etc). But due to these people I have to play with, I am really doubting why I would do it. So I can play Sion top/jungle, a champion that is not seen as strong or meta. Making matters worse, I don't even play that much top/jungle (support main), so when I do it, I might play bad, resulting in more flames.

The only times there are no flamers, is when I play with friends. But I think it is utter bullshit I need to play with friends to enjoy a game I spend money on. I also don't really expect much upvotes/downvotes or reactions, just wanted this off my chest.

As much as I'd love for it to not be a thing, sadly toxic players will always exist. The easiest way to control what types of people you play with is to find friends to play with.

I mean Riot tires their best to get rid of the flamers, but there is no way to stop them completely. There's a big difference between League and Overwatch. League you are stuck with your team for 35ish minutes and there is no way to escape, even in normals. In Overwatch, if someone is being annoying, you can just leave. That's kinda the long and short of it.

I will agree, it's kinda rediculous that people flame as much as they do in this game. Good luck to you OP.

Well this game did get popular from players sharing it with their friends and playing it with them. So, it's not exactly a bad thing that the game is way more enjoyable with friends :P And not surprising either really. Most online games are since they're built around social features.

However flamers/jerks are going to exist in every game, it all depends on how you react to it. I've had my fair share of toxic players. I usually just ignore them and play how I want. Especially if it's a normal game. If they get worse then a simple report goes a long way.

I will say though, Scion top is still pretty strong, so no idea why you think he isn't meta haha.

In all honesty, just play the game and don't worry about the flamers. Buy whatever skin you want, play whoever you want, and just have fun. It's still a game so don't let the negative players in the community get to you.

Side thought- have you tried Sion support? It's loads of fun and his zone control is nuts.

Theres this magical thing called the mute button. People hurting your sensitive feelings? Just mute them. And go on to enjoy the game.
