Why can you be queued with someone you just reported?

Thanks to this I have a good 15 minutes to spare, so I'll just explain my situation here. The last game I played, my team got fairly stomped. After around 20 minutes or so, after the surrender failed 3 to 2, our Amumu went to the fountain, and began just moving every few minutes, restarting the surrender vote whenever he could. After I watched long enough to know for sure he was AFKing, I said "You may have given up Amumu, but the rest of us haven't yet." After I said this, he went off complaining about how horrible we all were at this game. I, for one, was 0-6 by the end of the game on Singed. Yeah, not good, I know. Still had 3rd to most cs in game and second most damage on team, because we were stomped, but still. It's only fair to include that.

So, after the game I reported him for him being AFK and his negative attitude, and I re-queue. Honestly, I had a bad feeling in my gut, but I went ahead with it. So, next game I see that I'm queued up with him again. He starts off the chat saying hello to me, and hovering my singed. It was fairly obvious what was happening. Then banning my Singed...... and I'm a one-trick. After this, I figured it'd be best if I dodged this queue, for multiple reasons. I began to start warning my would-be teammates about who they were about to be playing with, and then the queue kicked me for not banning a champ (I thought since you could ban no one, you could just not ban someone to do that. Never tried before. That was my bad). After this, due to me leaving a different queue a while back (for completely different reasons), I got his with a 30 minute wait time for my next game.

So, I just want to ask.....why is it set up so you can re-queue with someone you've reported Especially someone you JUST reported? Like, I could almost understand if you were re-queued on the opponent's team, but on the same team? It's like Riot is literally asking for the person you reported to troll you? I'm certain I can't be the only one this could have happened to. I know that not all of this is not my fault (obviously I didn't play that well that game, even if most of my deaths came after they were fed in a 4v5), but this is a situation that should really never occur, and has had a direct negative repercussion as a result.....

Because it would mess up matchmaking, especially in higher ELO's. Google the story of that widowmaker player that matchmaking could not find games for in overwatch because everyone had blocked him because he was too good.

I usually wait about 10 minutes before I queue again if I just reported someone, so I have less chance of seeing him again.

If you are going to report someone, you might want to spend some time wrigin description of the deeds that the person whom you are reporting did. The advantage is two fold; first - the report system might actually use some of that report text to it's advantage. Second - you are less likely to go to queue at the same time your reported person does and thus less likely to end up playing with him again.

If you get to the same game, you play as well as you can and if the person did something nasty, you report him again adding more reports on his account. You can take the time to try to learn some other champion if your one-trick is banned/taken. Granted the game is more likely to end in defeat, but you might have fun which is the prime directive in all games.

The system most likely doesn't do any checking on your reported persons because if it did, the people at the top could start reporting the top players whom they don't wish to ever play against again and thus the top players might "never" get to play a match, since everyone (on his skill level) would have reported them at least once or twice. Also, such checking would take more CPU time to cross check if anyone in the lobby has even reported another.

Because it'd flood their system with people just reporting players that did badly.

It's like challenger players could abuse the shit out of that or something? After a lot of games it would even fuck up low elo matchmaking

Because otherwise you could just report anyone that you think (through your limited amount of data, because people make sweeping assumptions about a player based on one play) isn't that good so that you will never be matched with them again. Anytime you lose, just report everyone on your team. Eventually matchmaking would be fucked because you can't play on the same team as half the players in your division.

because you can't wait 5 minutes or so?

Riot has a very busted and broken ranking system that highly favors the trollers over the people being trolled. Not only is riot going to place you in lob-sided games, it'll make sure you see the same people over and over despite that there's apparently thousands of players. I've once had to report the same person 3 games in a row while enjoying my 3 freeloss games. It's a great game indeed.

I've actually had a recent game under such circumstances, being teamed up with a toxic player I'd had to report in the past, only having to report him/her again. The notification I'd gotten afterwards of action being taken place was satisfying.

riot does not have a ban list like dota so you get match with who you are match with your report is not part of the match making system

Is it possible to que up with same random people you played with 5 days ago?

Fegone8/18/2017, 2:39:21 PM1 votes

I agree, if you're in low enough elo this could be easily be prevented, since there are so many players to be matched with and against.

Just a few days ago had a group of 3 premades in flex ranked who were just there to troll and lose the game. Naturally we lost big time with 3 people inting and refusing to surrender, we reported them. Next game there they were again, but this time on the opposing team. Needless to say we won that one but I felt sorry for the 2 that were matched with them.

It is quite rare to see happen honestly. I have seen it happen as you get higher elos and mostly in TT as Riot can't pull more that 10 players it seems xD

I just leave .. and put them on my Block list..I have only been matched up with One blocked person after i blocked them.. The system will tell you that you will not receive text from x player as they are muted and on your block list. Now does RIOT look at block list I doubt it but it makes me feel better :) . The five minute Bio break with sandwich normal gets the idiot out of your queue rotation. Unless you are diamond or higher.. D4 is what i think is when you wait forever to get a game .. at least that is what my son says.. I laugh not in B4 buddy .... under his breath you butt is B4 as he walks away.....

After every match take a short break. 3 - 5 mins. Walk around your house, stand up stretch. Look up some funny shit online, read the news. Anything. Don't play matches in a row straight like that. It's just asking for bad mojo. So just chill a bit and this will be avoided that way anyways.

Because software doesn't magically implement features you want and people developers didn't implement them before hand because it was on the back burner in terms of priorty? :/

More important question why can you be queued with someone you just BLOCKED? Doesent all meaning of blocking someone means you dont get to see them, talk to them and PLAY WITH THEM again. Why Riot thinks that if i blocked someone i am fine to play with that person and let him be in my game . Doesent matter if he cant talk he is in my FKIN game!
