Perm banned and i don't know why :(

Hi guys I'm a fellow league of legends player as you guys. Just a few days ago I tried to log in to league of legends and I find out I have gotten banned. They didn't give me a pop up message or sent me a email for what reason I got banned so I sent in a support ticket. Apparently I've been banned for using scripts, hacks, exploits or unauthorized third-party programs in League of Legends. I might have gotten D5 in flex queue but I'm S5 in solo queue. It should be clear if you look at my kda and my match history that I don't use any type of cheats. At this point I was very confused of why I got banned so I sent in another ticket saying that I never hacked or cheated in this game in my life. They transferred me to Player Behavior team because they are experts in this matter. I get a reply a few days later and apparently I was using exploits. Now I'm really confused because I don't even know the difference between hacks and exploits... I've never used any program that helps me in league in anyway. They also put that I could be banned for account sharing so I replied back keeping my stance on not hacking or exploiting and also that I went to a pc cafe a few days ago if that made it looked like I was account sharing. The next reply says that they don't ban for no reason and they know that its frustrating that i got my account permanently suspended and they can't do anything to help me. At this point I'm even more confused.. they can't tell me what I did so I can't prove my self right. I kept replying to them saying I just wanted to know what I did wrong that got me banned so at least I know myself if the ban was justified or not. In the end the riot staffer just kept avoiding the question saying they can't tell me because it's their method of doing things and that they can't help me anymore.... Very frustrating how they ban me for something but they won't tell me what i got banned for...

I just want to know why...Amumu

you may have been:

  • scripting
  • using custom mods that give you an edge in game (e.g.MKLoL gave jungle timers)
  • logged in from a PC that had an unathorized program on it (you don't have to had used it, it just had to be there)
  • you let someone else use your account that had access to scripts (ELO boosting)

Some programs have hidden features that you don't know and never used, but they still count towards being detected of the use of unathorized 3rd party program usage.

Scripting is an exploit....

ask them to clarify what exploits means I think scripting is part of exploits

Cool I didn't know if it was the same thing.. So if it was the pc cafe isn't it possible that I can give riot their information and we can get everything solved? If its true that there were third party programs in the pc cafe that means it's dangerous for other players to play in there. Honestly I didn't see anything change on league when i played there.

It's up to riot support I've personally never heard/seen a case of riot punishing for scripting But there is always a 1st

They have at least a couple waves of punishments for it every year. The most recent one was around the beginning of this year. Unfortunately, even if the script was something that was on the PC cafe computer, by logging into that computer and using it willingly, even if the OP didn't use the script on it, his account can still be banned.

Though I have to say, that is not what strikes me as the most likely cause of this ban. I would be more inclined to think it was something to do with the difference between ranks in flex queue and solo queue. Silver V and Diamond V is a pretty big gap. Most people would expect that if you can reach Diamond on one that you should be able to at least be in high Gold/Platinum on the other, not low Silver. To the OP, were you playing with the same high ranking friends most of the time in flex?

i played a bit with my plat friend in flex but my last 20 games or so i played by my self . I don't think they would ban me just because of difference in ranks. You can easily tell I don't script by looking at my kda and match histories... which is why i'm confused as why i got banned..

Well, no, they don't ban people for having a difference in ranks, but it can look a tad suspicious. One of the ways that people tend to get caught for boosting is because they get a sudden jump in rank, or have a massively uneven rank across the queues.

After reading through your original post, your notes from Support and your reply, I looked at your match history. Aside from big jumps in rank, one of the other red flags is summoner spell changes. While it's not impossible for players to try out a new placement of summoner spells to see if they like them better on the other key, it's not that common for that to happen at the same time as a different trinket is used. Again, not impossible, just not that common.

Are you certain that no one else has had access to your computer? A friend or relative that might have used it without your knowledge maybe? You have a couple matches buried in there that just look a bit out of place, and Support may have been looking at the trinket and summoner spells.

Uhm I have looked at match history on op.gg as much as i can and i have not changed any summoners(as in flash on F) as far as i can see. Also does the trinket look like someone else is playing because I usually not upgrade the trinket because iwant the wards for vision. As far as I know I do not know anyone that might have went on my account. Mabye a few times I have went to my friends house and logged on but i know for sure they don't have hacks on their computer (they suck :p). I jumped big ranks because I've built a momentum on my elo and i just kept skipping ranks I did play with my friend that was diamond last season but I stopped playing with him and started climbing by myself most of the time. I usually got carried by the team i got matched with.

I looked at your match history using the League version, so I'm not sure if op.gg goes back that far or not. I'm nowhere near as good at poking into matches and such as some of the other guys around here are, so I really couldn't say if it looked like someone else was playing. It just looked odd to suddenly see a handful of matches with blue/red trinkets when literally all your other matches were yellow. That was actually the only way I even noticed that the summoner spells were swapped.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean a big jump in rank for you specifically; I meant that just in general terms. Some of the guys know of sites where they can check for jumps in rank, but I'm not actually sure what those sites are, or how to check them.

And I'm not 100% positive that this is what flagged your account for review/punishment. I'm just trying to give you some information about things that might have looked suspicious to player support. I've seen a lot of people come through the boards who were banned for account sharing that had things like this in their match history.

skin mods (esp the ones that have hidden features) are exploits as well.

"exploits" is a pretty broad term, just like "toxic" is a very broad term.

Shouldn't I have gotten banned the moment I logged into the pc cafe? I was there for like 4 hours and I didn't get a warning that i was hacking or get forcefully logged out. Also on my laptop i got no skin mods or anything like that. I don't use any programs to change anything on league.

its possible, and you won't get any warning for that. They don't want to give any information to hackers and notify them what triggered the system.

3rd party program punishments are done in waves. So it could have been detected ages ago.

We as a community don't have the information of what Riot's is seeing, so we can't give you a definite answer of what got you punished.

It's just very frustrating that we don't know what happened. If u were in my shoes I think you will be as frustrated as i am.. just very very confused.

Same thing happened to me a couole days ago. They said I was using exploits specifically but I've never used any such thing or any third-party programs in general. Have been trying to get a rioters help on the matter. Support was absolutely no help, they told me the same thing they told you it seems.

This is very sad.. Honestly want to know why... I don't give a flying f if i get unbanned. I just feel like the perma ban was unjust.

It is unjust, and the fact that support just keeps giving copy-pasted answers is even worse. There should be a way we can prove our innocence or at least appeal the decision. It's heartbreaking to lose a 5 year old account with all champs and 200 skins for absolutely no reason

Jesus I just hope we get this all figured out and this is just one of those mistake ban waves.

I don't know how I can help, maybe create a more "clickbaity" post for a Rioter to comment, something like (this post is likely to be buried because of title).

"Got banned for playing in Net Café without willingly use any hack", and link to this original post and explain your situation. Ask for a manual review of your case etc. If you have game replays that would be even better.

I've sent numerous replies to my ticket... they said they can't help me anymore and will close the ticket.

You were found scripting pretty much the defacto perma ban that is the reason

I've asked many times I'll tell u exactly what they said "Unfortunately, I can't provide you with any more information other than what was already discussed. There are many individuals that write to us daily asking for information that's pertinent to our investigation in an attempt of exploiting our method. I'm not saying that this was your intention because I believe that it is not the case at all. However, this policy was put in place to protect our detection system and it's something that we must take great precaution on."

They don't tell people who script what triggered the system as they'd be announcing what they're looking for and then the scripters would just change to avoid that trigger

You don't need to script to be banned for scripting..... If you signed onto a machine that had scripts the system will flag you for having scripted as your league client will be modified even if you did not know

Please don't accuse me of scripting... I don't script I never have and never will. You can check my LOL replay if anything I'm pretty trash and I don't know why anyone would think that im scripting.

To be clear you logged onto league of legends on a machine you did not have full rights to? That machine very easily could of had 3rd party software you were not aware of? You signed onto a machine that had 3rd party scripts you were flagged, and punished for it Possible situation

We're saying that its possible, that if you signed onto the game on a different computer than your own, and the owner of that computer, had anything that would cause a red flag to be raised, then it would have flagged your account as well.

Some other possibilities not mentioned by others yet:

If you have Keyboard/Mouse macros (particular the apps for gaming keyboards), if you set up a multi-action macro that chains together multiple actions with one button press, this will also be flagged. Alternative Keybinds are ok. You could for example, re-/alt-bind extra buttons on your mouse for things like Attack-Move, or any single ability, etc etc. But you can't macro a multi-action combo (such as Flash->Q or your ability combo chain of E->Q->W->R)

I really don't know because I didn't get banned playing for 4-5 hours at the pc cafe... and I don't use any macros. This is why i want to know why i got banned because I don't know if I did it or not. Honestly I really don't mind staying banned but i still would like to know why i got banned so I can complain to the pc cafe owner and make sure no one else has to go through this.

In that case, you may just want to talk to the Cafe, and mention what happened.

Did the PC Cafe already have LoL installed? If so, a previous user may have installed some sort of unauthorized program so he could try out an exploit?

Don't know how PC Cafe computers work, but that sounds plausible.

However, even if that's the case, it likely won't get your account unbanned.

Yes it had it installed but i thought that the computers reset everytime someone logs out of the computer.

Ok I don't think I've been banned for scripting or hacking but exploits because that's what the staff members pointed out in one of their replies. Also I don't know what kind of exploits I used.
