chat restrict for this!?!?! please read and explain...this is getting ridiculous

after being trolled by an auto locker in champ select and continuous trolling through out the game. i got an 25 game chat resitrict for this....( here is the FULL chat log in which riot linked when i got the 25 game chat restrict.) personally i think this is ridiculously insanse. i did nothing wrong here other then being frusterated by another troll. here is the FULL chat log...its very short and in my opinion PG and non-chat restrict worthy....RIOT is getting ridiculous with there punishments......is there any way to fight this crap??? So, regardless of the other players ' actions, it's not ok to harass players or insult them. Every line is dedicated to insulting one player.

You're also in blind pick. No one has an obligation to pick a champ that suits you, or even adhere to role picking.

I would adhere to talking about objectives and communicating more clearly in champ select to avoid this type of situation.

We seriously need a screenshot of your chatlogs from your client, cz we had a lot of cases where punished players were nitpicking logs instead of posting the whole thing.

riot doesn't give a damn....they probably are just trying to avoid being taken to court by an angry parent who will claim my child is being exposed to rude language or got upset or emotionally hurt my someones words in the game and hurt himself or something like that....even though the game itself has weapons and violence and sexual themes or visuals if you will. if you really think they care then they wouldn't permaban accounts but rather permachat restrict them.....but they have no done this as you can see. cuz they will count on you to just make another account

i dont think this deserves a punishment, that guy clearly role trolls and you don't even insult him that much, all you did was call him horrible for his trolling, not even a single line of harshness

that's riot's punishment system for you. a person calling out a troll gets punished while the actual troll who says nothing gets away scott free. and there ain't nothing any player can do to change that. ever since i got back into league i have had my chat box off screen so i don't see any flame thrown at me and should a player ? ping spam me i simply say "save your breath. i have chat box off screen" and that it. i say nothing more. has helped me get out of my recent chat restriction and get my honor unlocked.

Basically the general consensus is, "It's ok if someone deliberately wastes your time by not playing the game correctly and/or not communicating correctly". Personally I prefer blind pick, but trolls often ruin my games, on purpose mind you, because they know there is no punishment for their actions. As shown by this thread, people are more concerned with your "targeted abuse" rather than an actual problem that exists physically, rather than in your head. Real toxicity occurs when players flame each other for petty things like misclicking, or not playing well. Buemho has a legitimate gripe towards those who willingly ruin games for others, and was promptly punished for it.
