Riot has banned my account forever. Accusing me of using exploits and cheats, providing zero proof.

Riot. What the fuck are you doing.

As the title says. I have been taking a break from the game because other games are taking most of my time. I checked my email randomly and saw that I received punishment and was suspended until 2203....which is basically forever. Riot's excuse is that I had used "exploits" to "cheat" and yet I fail to see how that's possible if I haven't been playing. I only got on a couple of times to play arurf with a friend. I'll include a link to the screenshots of my conversation with a Riot support person. Lots of salt included, for good reason. Hopefully I blacked out all the important bits. Can anyone explain what the fuck I'm supposed to do about this? They are taking my account away forever due to either thinking I used cheats (without actually explaining anything or providing any proof) or because I was hacked and someone cheated on my account. I refuse to start a new account because the grind to 30, and then the grind to even unlock a couple of champions with even beginner runes is not worth it.

well the account and all the content belongs to riot... they just allow you to use it... therefore legally they dont have to provide any proof. and can seize your account at any time as they see fit

Plz stop accusing someone without evidence. It's not the first case people are mad they do not get the evidence of them breaking the rules . And plz dont make me start with this " we cant provide evidence because it may break our investigation methods "

even in this case, show the guy the game where the "bots " were used. thats all he wants.

Exactly. I'm glad someone understands. Like, I had to read that excuse 3 times because I didn't believe that support guy actually said that. Like, if you can't prove to me that I was cheating/exploiting/whatever, than how the Hell am I supposed to defend myself?

absolutely, I would be pretty upset. I can manage to keep my composure while upset though. when trying to deal with customer service to solve an issue, cussing them out is never a good idea.

cussing them is over the line but on the other hand its frustrating to deal with riot support.

I dealth with them myself multiple times , most of the times i get pre-written responses that dont adress the issue, next the staff there is mostly under qualified ( people that do not play the game at all , i had experience with a girl that was lvl 25 never played a game vs non co-op ) . Then we have the problem that Riot "rules" are not exactly rules. They use stupid terms like "common sense " which is not exactly specific etc. which makes it even more annoying to deal because you dont exactly know what you did wrong / right because there are no examples of the behaviour ( i literally pointed an example from riot site to a riot employee yet she refused to take it into consideration even tho it was above 90% simmilar )

And the most annoying of them all. The "we dont reverse punishments ". Many people are getting banned/suspended/punished, most of them are banned/suspended for a reason ( we can easily assume the vast majority ) but there are people who are wrongly banned. But chill riot does not care, support staff does not care (mostly ).

If you combine this with no specific rules as well as poor understanding of the game by riot employees you have situation where a not so smart Rioter will interpret the rules for the sole purpose of not lifting your punishment :)

PS: its easy to judge someones behavior when you are not in his situation, people on boards seem to forget that often :)

Literally 100% of the times I've dealt with them, they've given me the same copy and paste answers. Every single person that talks to me. Support is easily the worst part of Riot. That's why I'm so angry in my responses is because again, I'm getting the same speech from them.....meanwhile, I've lost my account forever.

ask them whatever you want to ask them, just don't insult them or cuss them out. That's pretty much it. In cases where you get banned for 3rd party programs though, they never release information about why you were banned. It would be much harder to detect scripts and cheating because the places coding the software would learn how to work around their detection easier.

Ok so that's not much of a help. I literally tried asking them about it. I got mad so quickly because instead of helping me or trying to work with me, the person did exactly what every other Riot support member has done. Given me copy and paste responses that provide me with nothing helpful. And so what the fuck am I supposed to do? I didnt cheat at all, ever, in my fucking life. I'm just supposed to sit back and be like. "Oh yea this is totally fine. I didn't actually want to keep my account or play the game" ? I don't give a shit what their reason for keeping information from me is. I want my fucking account back because I did NOTHING wrong.

I think you are missing the part where they proved you cheated. Riot said you cheated = proof %100 so they know who is cheating but don't just add anti-cheat onto NA servers in the first place.

Are you mad? What don't you understand? The proof is clear. Riot Games aka The Pope is infallible. They said you cheated so that is 100% proof. God exists, don't have to prove it because....said he exists.

Bro, I work in customer service. I can absolutely guarantee that we (CSRs) are much LESS willing to help someone who is a complete ass.

Things become very black and white and we aren't going to raise a finger or exert an extra ounce of effort if you're being a jerk.

You say that if they don't like what you said that's their problem, but you're the one with the banned account. They're not being punished, so really it's kind of your problem isn't it?

Good for you. Like I've said before, I don't get anything helpful from Riot support. I tried asking in a not "jerkish" type of way and they instantly resort to copy and paste responses that tell me nothing. That's why I got so angry. This is far from the first time I've dealt with their shit. They aren't messaging me to help me, they're messaging me to shut me up.

-First of all, was your account recently made within this year or has it been around for a few years? -Second of all did you have a really weak password? Because plenty of hackers will run B.S. brute force programs to yoink passwords and in a game like say Guild wars 2, will just turn your account into a 'farm bot' after stripping of it of all tradable goods and money. League of Legends could at least be used the same to make 'dummy accounts' out of 'real accounts' to make it easier todo things like test scripts and hacks in 'actual games' till they got it to the point that it is extremely undetectable and then may pull off b.s. like selling accounts with the scripts and hacks packaged in it for a tidy profit.

All i can really suggest is to properly protest and bring proof that you were not the one in control of the account at the time and hopefully with enough pressure they will take the time to restore access.

But if your just some hacker or exploiter runner and been lying this whole time then i would say to you: "Eat Hecarim's smelly turds and fall in a ditch and get devoured by Rek'sai for thinking you could whine your way into getting your account after doing hacks/exploits."

Ok but the thing is...I have literally no idea how to prove I wasn't using cheats or exploits or anything, because as you can see, they refuse to show me their evidence. I have no idea what to do about this, that's why I'm here. Also Im pretty sure my password was good. They've failed to provide evidence that I was even hacked, I'm just assuming that that is what must have happened because I haven't been playing often recently.

I would say the same thing to any hacker or exploiter. I've been lucky enough to never run into one in game but I can imagine that my rage would be intense if placed against one. This is really all I can do is post my story here and hope that somehow I can be helped. If I can't then I'm just going to never play again. I refuse to grind to 30 again. It is the worst part of the game.

Im always suprised when i see streamers using third-party skins and software to play league and they are not getting their accounts suspended (even tho they are strreaming the evidence), meanwhile little league players are getting banned left and right without evidence xD

Well yea see, streamers bring in increased revenue for Riot, and that's all Riot really cares about. Not the little guys just trying to play the game. I'm being falsely accused but they have so much faith in their broken systems, it couldn't possibly be wrong!

streamers and pros dont give rito any money, cause they get everything for free .. maybe we should shut down their payment system for a week and see how many ppl rito has to fire before they will listen to the little guys

What I mean by that is that successful streamers continue to grab people's attention to the game. Keeping people interested in playing. Therefore, at least some of them will continue to give Riot their money.

Riot doesn't ban for using 3Rd party skins. The 3rd party programs they use are given the greenlight before they do it typically.

Sounds like your account got compromised, and was being used as a bot account while you weren't playing. You can't blame Riot for banning the account if it was caught using 3rd party programs. Whether it was you, or someone who got your account info is irrelevant.

You can try to take this up with support, but it's very unlikely you'll have the ban reversed. I don't think I've ever heard of a case where Riot reversed a perma-ban.

I absolutely can blame Riot. If they want to shut my account down because it was compromised, fine. But to also give me nothing in return and expect me to start over again is fucking unacceptable.

Why would they compensate you for your account being banned? They can't prove whether it was you, or someone else using the scripts, neither can you. They're only there to close the account because it was found using scripts. Nothing beyond that.

They didn't even say it was for scripts, or anything specific. They used general terms like "cheating" and "exploits" It's bullshit to ban me forever and not give me even a chance to defend myself. I think it's pretty shitty that instead of trusting me, the player, who has spent fucking money buying their points, they assume that I did in fact cheat in some way and banned me without a second thought.

They already explained why they can't reveal what information they have, and that they weren't assuming you would misuse it. You're accusing them of things directly in contradiction to what's in the ticket; that isn't going to make them change their minds.

Is there a part of the ticket that you don't understand? I'd be happy to go over it with you.

They've explained that instead of attempting to contact their customer, part of their playerbase, part of the very reason they exist.....this choose to ban my account forever and choose to give me no information. They did not give me a chance to defend myself for their wrongful banning. They're accusing me of cheating while providing no evidence under the very bullshit claim that it's to keep hackers or whatever from learning. Do I seem like someone who's trying to learn how to cheat better?? If I was a hacker or whatever, wouldn't I just buy multiple accounts and cheat on them, instead of making this post in the first place or even opening that support ticket? Again, they chose to believe that I cheated and instant banned me without letting me defend myself. I get nothing out of this. I lose my account forever because they think I was cheating.

If they discovered an abuse of an exploit, unfair macro use, illegal applications interacting with the client or whatever, then they found it and no explanation would help.

Even if you weren't actively using something like this, you're responsible for its presence on your client, so if you were using a shared/public computer or especially if anyone else has ever used your account you're liable for that.

While it probably wouldn't help at this point, you could provide them a list on IP's you played from and applications running in the background while you play League. A false positive for their detection is very rare, but it can happen and that kind of information may help on their end.

While your intentions may not be malicious, this information could do a lot of damage to their investigative process if they believed one wrong person and broke protocol. They simply can't take that risk for the benefit of the community and the game as a whole.

If you want Player Support to give you the benefit of the doubt, just as dynikus said you should be calm and respectful in your ticket. Here is a ticketing guideline to help you with that.
