I was banned for 14 days for banter between my irl friends in a normal game and they thought it would be funny to report me, while objectively yes i was toxic it was all for fun towards people who arent actually offended at all and i know them all very well. Is there a way to resolve this because i feel it is entirely unfair to ban me for having fun joking around with my friends.
Get new friends.
Based on the type of punishment you got and the fact that you need to be reported more than once for that to happen; you have more issues than just your friends reporting you.
just saying, that you need more than 3 reports to be punished, also 14 days punishment comes after chat restrictions, also is the last punishment before permaban, so yeah, you are probably lying.

The system doesn't know that. So to avoid this use something like Discord, Skype, Curse or TeamSpeak if you play with friends to avoid chat bans from Riot.
To be clear like people have said the system doesn't know when it's a joke or not, and even then it takes more than just one report to get punished. Unless you were really toxic. But even then how do you know she was the only one to report you?

Real friends don't mess around with their friend's property like that lightly. There's a lot wrong with this situation, with Riot's response to it being the least problematic.

For the lovely kind sir to say the punishment is due to multiple chat restrictions, there were 3 games that they reported me in. Back, to back, to back. So yes it was an accumilated act of malice, however, they were still people i know in real life and people who thought it was funny to report me. Mainly they are salty because I hit platinum this season while they are all still in silver. Riot is fantastic. Thank you for taking the actual time to understand the situation and not just ban me through a computerized system. Maximum sarcasm intended. Also, to the gentleman who recommended the laxatives, something very similar will be coming soon to ruin their lives for a bit as they have ruined mine. League is life, you ban my life for 14 days, im going to wreck your soul just the same. Thanks for all the comments guys.

or maybe they thought it was offensive deep down and reported you.
Well, there are a couple ways to improve the situation. First, consider chatting with friends on a third party service, such as discord or Skype. That way, no friendly banter between friends will ever register on the instant feedback system. Second, find new friends that won't report you and get your account banned.
(I'm also ignoring the obvious answer; that you weren't joking with friends and actually were a toxic twit to randoms in your game. You aren't the first person to claim this defense)
