It seems very unlikely -- although it may theoretically be possible on a newer account -- that a single instance of "stop being a dick" would trigger a chat ban.
Do you have your chat logs? It's possible that there's something in them that you're overlooking, and, if that's the case, it would be good to identify what that behavior is before it causes problems in the future.
