I watched a game of nightblue3 on youtube playing alistar jg, so i decided to try it. I was just playing the game lile normal. My whole team started to flame me for "trolling". They all called me names and told me they were all gonna report because they were in a discord chat. Its kinda offsetting because i was told that you cant get banned for off meta... I shouldnt be perma banned for having fun and having a bunch of jerks report because they feel like it
You weren't permabanned for off meta.
You cannot be "9x reported" banned.
The system doesn't work that way.
However, if someone DID report you (only takes ONE report to flag someone for a chat log review) and you were arguing/hostile/toxic/flaming them back, then yes. You would be banned for the contents of your chat.
Off-meta is not bannable, and players cannot "gang up" on others with reports.
If you are actually banned, I highly doubt it would be for building off meta. If you were punished by the Instant Feedback System, then you will have received a reform card with chat logs that you can check when you log into the client.
If you don't see a reform card when logging in, then you were likely banned for a different reason. Check to see if you have received an e-mail from Riot (be sure to check your spam/junk folder too) and if you can't find anything, then you will need to submit a ticket to Player Support to get more information regarding your ban.
you probably used hacks or a bot to level. they did a cheater banwave a little while back

Oh man my friend played AD Jungle Alistar as a joke and completely crushed the opponents. But we did do it as a three man premade (in a normal) not solo.
I got raged at and told I was going to get reported when played Top lane 
. I saw top lane Gragas in the LCS, told my team in champ select that I hadn't done it before. Then I got crushed in lane by 
, although in my opinion I had some great TPs into fights, Fed Yasuo goes on to crush the rest of my team. I missed 50% of my ultis.. and everytime I missed the thing my team would whine and threaten to report me. Guys guys why do you expect me to be a pro?, I told you I hadn't done it before and hadn't played gragas at all for while and not since the ulti nerf.
Seriously league players, in normals, need to actually let people learn to play new champions and new ways to do things without raging at them. However If you are playing "support" I need you to buy

ali jungle is an old meta, riot practically nerfed ali out of the jungle back to lane.
He was really good at early ganks with his cc.
