Alright, so as we all know, all ranked games are being recorded / have the possibility of being recorded by the players.
Really? I've never heard of that, unless you're talking about replay.gg or overwolf or some 3rd party program, not sure what you mean here.
There are numerous people who ruin those games and numerous ways of dodging the reporting system when doing so, without being punished !
I'm making this thread, because I've encountered such people in my last 2 previous games, stay under the tower, moving around it, gaining XP, using some spells to get some assists / kills or whatever and DODGING THE AFK BUSTER SYSTEM !
In ranked? I find that really hard to believe. I can see people who are trying to get to level 30 doing this, but not in a Ranked game. But I digress, looking at your op.gg I've noticed that there was an Ashe in your last game that seemed to be doing pretty bad, but it looks like all her deaths were under a tower (or at least really near one). That doesn't necessarily mean she's trolling, maybe she's just bad, so no one is allowed to be bad at this game anymore?
Not to mention all the trolling ruining games on purpose, I even myself have a friend, who's Diamond and wanted an account in the lowest ELO possible so he can climb up harder, so he deliberately ruined his first 10 games, imagine how the people in his team felt ?
I would argue, your friend is a fringe case. Most people won't throw their placements, they want to get as high of a rank as they possibly can. And even if your friend does throw his placements, it won't be hard for him to climb back up. The later in the season, the more likely you are going to be placed in a higher rank. This is due to how the reset works. During the reset, the highest you can place is P1. That means that D5-Challenger is not available to be placed in. Ergo, when there are a lot of people in Diamond and above, there's no more crowding of the lower ranks. Not to mention that your friend will probably skip tiers making the climb that much faster.
That being said, what your friend did was wrong and should be punished. I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone around here legitamtely arguing that the system works perfectly, it doesn't, but I think it does work well enough because the cases of someone actually trolling or actually throwing the game, are incredibly rare.
Riot, you should hire people, lots of them, whose job is to handle the reports from ranked games specifically and watch those games and their chat / how people act and play and punish them severely !
You're wealthy, you can give tons of job opportunities, it will be an easy job to do, not to mention 10000000000000000 times more efficient that the current useless reporting system which punishes people only for flaming / staying on 1 place for more than 3 freaking minutes !
This, is a terrible idea. There is very little ROI (return on investment), this would actually cost Riot games Millions of dollars, and quite frankly, it's just not that big of an issue. Most people who complain about trolls are below Plat and think its a huge problem. When in reality, most people below Plat are just bad and want to blame someone else for their low elo "curse".
But let's do a little math here. According to the latest numbers we have there are 27 million players playing each day. For arguments sake, let's go with the static that 7.5 million players play at the same time. That's 750,000 games going on at the same time. For this though experiment let's say that there are trolls in 1% of the games played and let's say each game takes half a hour. So in the course of 1 hour we have 1.5 million games played with a troll rate of about 1%. That equates to someone trolling in 15,000 games in the course of one hour. Let's go further and say that players can edit what parts they want to show trolling in, so that each one of the games only shows 10 minutes of someone trolling. You're still talking about 2,500 hours of footage to go through, for one hour of games played world wide. Not to mention that Riot would have to store all those games (cost) and hiring employees plus healthcare, benifits, life insurance, you're talking about a multi million dollar investment for something that would not bring more people into this game.
Not to mention that flaming and insulting should be the least concern when it comes to ranked games, trolling, AFK- ing, intentionally feeding and being unskilled are much, much worse and actually ruin games.
The whole reason why toxicity gets punished more frequently, is because it's a lot easier to detect. You can't get punished for being bad, that's just not right, so it's hard to tell when someone is being bad or someone trolling. Verbal abuse is just easier, but look at what happened with Dotot and TRM, they both got accounts punished for trolling.
I agree that since it's a free game, normal games, ARAM's and the different modes' games should be played for fun, but ranked is a whole different matter.
The conditions for being able to start ranked games should be much more difficult and not everyone should be allowed to have access to them.
Again, you shouldn't be punished for being bad. There are quite a few players in bronze who take their games very seriously. And making the condition to start Ranked would only further alienate potential new League players, and that's bad business.
I don't want trollers, afk-ers, intentional feeders, unskilled people in my ranked games. No normal person wants them. Handle this matter already ffs.
This is the biggest part I take issue with. No one wants a troll, I have well over 1500 games played on this account and I've seen maybe 10 trolls in total. The rate of trolling is a lot less than what people think it is from my experience. AFKS are a problem, but I have hardly had any, I have one afk maybe every 35-45 games? For me, they're quite rare. Intentional feeders, again, they're kind of rare. I've seen only a handful of them in total. Unskilled people? Players who are playing at below Diamond aren't able to play ranked? If you're getting matched with shit players, then you need to either 1, climb or 2, stay in the elo you're in because that is where you belong.
