Autofill

Autofill is a stupid and useless mechanic. It constantly gives player roles they either, don't want or can't play to the best of their ability. It makes games less fun for other players and makes the player affected by autofill have bad games and a bad time playing in general.

i agree completely. League can be frustrating enough when youre playing the roles you actually ENJOY playing. but forcing us into positions we either arent comfortable with or have no desire to play makes no sense. i would gladly take the longer queue times in a heartbeat. at the very least they should make it an "option" that you can uncheck if you prefer to wait for your desired rolls. come on Riot youre realling dropping the ball with this one... and until they do something about it i will continue to dodge matches, does that sound like quicker queues Riot? when every other games is dodged because of your stupid system..

Screw whoever thought it was a good idea to add autofill. I can barely enjoy half of my games anymore and am fearful to even que up ranked because, there is a strong chance I'm going to get auto-filled to support.

When I log on, I want to play the game that I WANT to play. I select the role i want and away we go. This auto fill crap makes it less enjoyable for me and down right frustrating as there are more dodges and many other complaints! Seriously Rito... wtf are u thinking?

Riot should implement a way to set a saved preferred role order.

I'm a bit on the fence about it. Allowing players to play two roles exclusively furthers tunnel vision, which in turn is the cause of a lot of toxic blame shifting. I strongly believe that if everybody was to understand the decision making process of each role, its capabilities and its responsibilities, that would cut down negativity in chat by a lot.

The reason I'm on the fence about it nevertheless is, that I'm not entirely certain whether autofill really actually provides that. A lot of people that get autofilled tend to just get into this "let's just get this over with"-mentality, which probably isn't a mindset that facilitates learning what a role is really about.

Personally, I believe that this iteration is a good compromise between last season's system and the system before that; even though obviously it will lead to a lot of shortterm frustration until people get used to having to be capable of playing all roles again.

Irrelevant Sidenote: Upvoted you simply because of the neutral poll. Too many people discourage discussion in their threads right away by posting a poll heavily biased towards their viewpoint.

For me its not that I can't play ADC or support its that players are just stupid...

ADC goes Ashe doesn't know what to do with an off meta Akali bot lane both of you are level 6, but the Ashe stuns the enemy ADC with (R) instead of the enemy Sona Why the heck would you do that like people use the word mentally challenged a lot in League, but I just know something is going on when the ADC has no idea how to play so the lane phase is won but instead throws it to the enemy then blames you.

Or the support Bard / Thresh who do nothing supportive (in group fights) or (in Lane phase) because they do no damage, just throw stupid hooks and can't hook a key enemy in 1 second during a group fight you might as well have just played Sona or Sejuani and press R if you really can't play at all its more helpful...

Its not that something isn't playable its that people have no idea what they are doing and people argue / yell when it goes bad (Auto Fill) wouldn't be bad if peeps knew what to do...

What is worse is its not just (BOT Role now) its (Junglers) who are getting auto filled and throwing lanes off because they have no idea how to jungle or think before going in.

I don't mind having autofill for Normal games. I find it a good way to let myself be forced out of my comfort roles and learn something new.

However, while I don't play ranked myself, if I did, I would find autofill incredibly frustrating due to either finding myself in a role I dislike playing, or having autofill teammates in the same boat. Or worse, trolling over it.

Autofill is my favorite feature.

No, I'm not happy with autofill, because I think RIOT could do even more by getting rid of protection from autofill and allowing players to customize their preferences across all five roles instead of just two roles, but I'll take the step up from the straightjacket that was season six. I am happy getting my primary selection more often than last season and happy with the decrease in overall queue time as well. Two role selection is a...

stupid and useless mechanic.

maybe riot should have 3 roll. Just so people can have some flex in their games. I have to agree. Having a person get jungle when that their weakest spot is bad. Heck the program it self is flawed. I was qued up with my friend. She a support man. I am a top/mid/bot main. So I pick bot. We got into the game and boom. She got bot and I got support. Even though we both had clearly selected the other spot. Lucky we just traded but it was wield for us to have autofill swap us.

Another time I picked top and mid. Then the game autofills me top. I know you might be wondering how I know I was autofill top. Before that game. I did not have autofill protection. After that game. I did so it clear that I was autofilled top for some reason.

will autofill ever be turned off? i would rather wait three days in q then be forced to play a role that i do not have fun playing. i might as well not be playing at all.

if i or my friends ever get autofilled to anything bot lane and we dont want to we just troll the game, idc if its Ranked or not, Riot wants to put us in the lane that none of us do good in, in Ranked thats not my fault, i relise its not my teams fault either but they can blame riot
