Autofill is a stupid and useless mechanic. It constantly gives player roles they either, don't want or can't play to the best of their ability. It makes games less fun for other players and makes the player affected by autofill have bad games and a bad time playing in general.

League can be frustrating enough when youre playing the roles you actually ENJOY playing. but forcing us into positions we either arent comfortable with or have no desire to play makes no sense. i would gladly take the longer queue times in a heartbeat. at the very least they should make it an "option" that you can uncheck if you prefer to wait for your desired rolls. come on Riot youre realling dropping the ball with this one... and until they do something about it i will continue to dodge matches, does that sound like quicker queues Riot? when every other games is dodged because of your stupid system..

TrulyBland2 votesI'm a bit on the fence about it. Allowing players to play two roles exclusively furthers tunnel vision, which in turn is the cause of a lot of toxic blame shifting. I strongly believe that if everybody was to understand the decision making process of each role, its capabilities and its responsibilities, that would cut down negativity in chat by a lot.
The reason I'm on the fence about it nevertheless is, that I'm not entirely certain whether autofill really actually provides that. A lot of people that get autofilled tend to just get into this "let's just get this over with"-mentality, which probably isn't a mindset that facilitates learning what a role is really about.
Personally, I believe that this iteration is a good compromise between last season's system and the system before that; even though obviously it will lead to a lot of shortterm frustration until people get used to having to be capable of playing all roles again.

Charles Sweeney2 votesi play pretty evenly between mid,top and jungle right now but i play ADC on rare occasion, the problem with autofill is that 95% of the time you get support, and i i relise support is a very important role but i dont play it and i dont like the playstyle for it, but i agree with everything else you said

For me its not that I can't play ADC or support its that players are just stupid...

bot lane both of you are level 6, but the Ashe stuns the enemy ADC with (R) instead of the enemy 
Why the heck would you do that like people use the word mentally challenged a lot in League, but I just know something is going on when the ADC has no idea how to play so the lane phase is won but instead throws it to the enemy then blames you.

Its not that something isn't playable its that people have no idea what they are doing and people argue / yell when it goes bad (Auto Fill) wouldn't be bad if peeps knew what to do...
What is worse is its not just (BOT Role now) its (Junglers) who are getting auto filled and throwing lanes off because they have no idea how to jungle or think before going in.

AccursedDream2 votesYou sir is what is wrong with league lol. Yes riot makes some bad decisions that upset a lot of people, but we should work with what we have. I hate auto fill to, yet i play the roles i get to the best of my capability. For 2 reasons, 1) im not some jackass 5 year old who cries about not getting what they want and throws a fit and trolls ruining the game for every single person on your team when they did nothing wrong at all. 2) A win is a win, its a rank game so if you can win then who cares what you play? I mean yea its more fun to win with a champ and role you prefer most, but grow up and deal with it.
I went blitz crank doing more than my mid orianna and more damage, but only reason we lost was cause she was acting like a kid since i accidently took her blue while helping. Other wise the game was winnable. Rather than get upset then moving on, you and others rather cry and troll. I do hope riot gets rid of auto fill, but at the same time i hope they find a way to deal with people like you who intentionally ruins the game for everyone cause your 5year old pissy fit.
Charles Sweeney2 votesthe reason i hate support is because it isnt a carry role, i prefer carrying my team because 90% of the teams i get just feed out of there minds, but its not a big deal when i can carry them, when i get support i cant carry shit without my adc afking if i take one kill or touch like two cs, i tried playing support many times, i dont think it worked once, everytime i would have a 6/2 susan with 300 stacks at 15 minutes tping in and wede lose lane, but if i was in that lane the chances of that happenening are null, i may sound cocky but i carry most of the games i play because i dont play bot/support often if at all, what im trying to say is i cant win if i get put in a role that cant truly carry the game, i relise support is a very important role but when they have a 11/0 ahri in mine and my adc's ass i cant carry anything unless im fed myself, so no a win is not a win if you cant carry the people who think they deserve diamond+
and btw say i have a pissy fit all you want but it wont save my teams from riots problems

Supports can have so much utility that can keep your carries alive and keep going with their damage, diengages minimizing the enemy team's damage and stopping their dives for your carries. Or supports can make huge plays that can turn the game around or give a chance for your team to turn the fight around. Me and my duo would duo bot every so often and i cant count how many times me and him would carry our games on our backs with just my damage and him making so many plays and saves to keep me alive. I cant count how many games where my support is a complete disappointment or they don't even try and leave their lane just to go roam leaving me alone (hate bards). Supports them selves if they are amazing can be one of the biggest factors in the game. If your carries are equal in power and mechanics and the fight could be 50/50 then the thing that tips the balance and wins the fight would be how good your support is, how they keep your carries alive, keep the enemy at bay, pull off a great engage. The biggest one is how well they peel for their carries and keep them alive, alot of supports dont understand how crucial it is to keep your damage alive. Yes some times im in a predicament where i have a very hard time as a support cause my team doesnt do enough damage, but i can still win it, why? Because i had my team prioritize the right people while minimizing the damage done to the people on my team that matters. Sometimes games are just too heavy, no matter what role, if it is a 4v5 it is going to be a hard fight. If you really want to do damage that bad and feel like you can carry. Then just play a damage support like lux, brand, zyra, zilian. Carry your adc and yourself. There are plenty of times when my team lacked ap and i went ap blitz making the right pulls and bursting down their carries so my team has a easier time with a 5v4. You might not be happy with it, but youre going to have to deal with it. Susan with 300 stacks or more, so many times i wished i had a decent support that knew how to peel him, susan has no gap closer but he does have a massive slow and speed ups. If a decent support is on your team, yes they have to deal with the brunt of his massive damage, but it isnt hard to keep him at bay and away from your carry especially with leona. Your adc can just kite and keep him down. Damage isnt a problem if you can keep your carries alive long enough.
AccursedDream1 votesBasically any lane can be used to carry a game, but if you keep losing then rather than blame riot or anyone else, think about what you could have done better for your team to win that game. Sometimes games are just plain unwinnable due to comps or other factors and you have to accept it all. But if you have a troll or are trolling hard then the game has been lost even before it started.

Heck the program it self is flawed. I was qued up with my friend. She a support man. I am a top/mid/bot main. So I pick bot. We got into the game and boom. She got bot and I got support. Even though we both had clearly selected the other spot. Lucky we just traded but it was wield for us to have autofill swap us.
Another time I picked top and mid. Then the game autofills me top. I know you might be wondering how I know I was autofill top. Before that game. I did not have autofill protection. After that game. I did so it clear that I was autofilled top for some reason.

AJStarhiker1 votesI don't mind having autofill for Normal games. I find it a good way to let myself be forced out of my comfort roles and learn something new.
However, while I don't play ranked myself, if I did, I would find autofill incredibly frustrating due to either finding myself in a role I dislike playing, or having autofill teammates in the same boat. Or worse, trolling over it.
