My first 2 week ban was for hate speech. Which was the only time I ever did it, and it was in post game lobby, but after I was like....oh....that wasn't good.
A few months later, I called some people dumb, and assholes, and down came the Poppy hammer with the permanent ban.
But I did it to myself so all I can do next is be better on my new account.
It's a three strikes you're out deal with Riot. First out is chat restriction, which I got about three years ago. The next out is a two week ban, which I got a couple months ago. The third out is a permanent ban, which I just got yesterday.
Riot doesn't have any control over the report system. It's all automated and up to the players to report you.
With that said, on my new account if someone starts flaming me because I miss a cs and start taking them from me, or don't follow them into the jungle without vision, or can't read their mind, or play too aggressive...or just any flame they send my way in general, If I feel they are just being assholes, I report them, because that's what they did to me. Eventually everyone toxic will be permanently banned, start a new account, maybe learn our lesson, maybe not, maybe get banned again, who knows.
The permanent ban is to teach you a lesson.
If you want to be toxic, don't spend money on the game, because that's what you really lost when they took it away from you. All the things you paid for that are yours because you paid for them, aren't really yours. When Riot takes that away, it's supposed to hurt. The main reason most people complain about being permanently banned is because that's money they wasted and will never get back.
So next go around if you make investments in the game, you gotta protect those investments.
I tilt pretty easy so the new account I don't really say much, unless it's to make a joke or ask if the team wants to do something. [EDIT: This isn't entirely true, I have said, "Well I do have a (insert champion name here) for support." so I'm still working on it, but it's not the, "My supports fucking stupid can't do shit wont get lane pressure" you know the lines.]
[EDIT: Side note... after marksmen were nerfed into oblivion last year that's when I really became the most toxic I've ever been. Not excusing my behavior just giving insight into my mind. People at low elo have such high expectations for champions that legit cannot win on their own anymore like every other role in the game. I'm not saying you can't carry, but it now takes at LEAST 3 items, maybe 4, as well as a support that you have a telepathic connection with, but a top laner with a phage and corrupting potion can murder a marksman that has 1 full item, most supports can solo kill a marksman, pretty much everything in the game is designed to destroy a marksman, but we were only made for dps. In fact marksmen are so bad right now the only viable options are ones with high range, or massive aoe wave clear, or high spell burst damage, or hard cc or combination thereof. Marksmen that don't get played are left on the bench not becaues they have no escapes, but because they don't have the aforementioned abilities. In all honesty most mages can destroy marksmen bot now but people are afraid to not have dps on the team. But if there are no tanks being played, you don't need dps, so you can legit run an assassin or mage bot lane and smash if their team consists of no tanky champions be it top or support or jungle. This is why marksmen never went mid, because mages just trash them and marksmen don't have the kits that allow them to match. At low elo, because no one is good, if the slightest snowball happens on any champion the game is over, that's how I feel, opinions, grains of salt and whatnot.]
The thing is, everyone that plays this game thinks they know everything about everything about the game, so if you mess up in the slightest it's all your fault for everything. I know this because not only have I experienced this, I have done it myself on occasion, and now, all that time and money invested into my first account is gone.
So all I can do with this account now, is share my experience and how I was toxic and what it got me.
Some people don't realize that even after they unbanned Tyler1 they didn't give him his original account back, although they did make him a part of the partner program so I guess it didn't matter that he lost all his original content he paid for cause now he gets it all for free. So I guess that doesn't really apply here :/ [EDIT: It actually does apply here because I'm sure if he fucks up again he's gone and he will NEVER get another chance after that (scary). So that's his investment now.]
The thing is though as long as you just don't type anything you'll be good [EDIT: As long as you are actually trying to play the game like a smart person, because running it down, going afk, or telling the enemy where your jgl is, can still be and probably will be reported.]. Not saying if you're a normal and calm and upbeat happy go lucky person not to talk, but if you do have toxic tendencies, just don't type. Make your chat window as small as possible. If you just want an audience to agree with your flame, start a twitch channel so you can say it to the viewers and not the players (like Tyler1 does).
I did put in a support ticket to Riot, but I kind of already know that there's no way they give back all the things I paid for in the game. That's my punishment. That's the purpose of the permanent ban. To make you go...oh....oooohh....what have I done....why did I do that....oh no....oh............no............
