Am i the only one that thinks the option to report someone for verbal abuse is ridiculous? I mean theres a mute button..I really don't see the point in having both

Mute is to stop further damage. Reporting and punishing for toxicity is to prevent future damage.

It's because while you can mute to temporarily solve the problem, reports are a means to permanently solve the problem. Welcome to boards.

Thanks aha but isn't reporting someone because they said something g mean to you like..idk being a sensitive peach, I mean it just seems like riot wants people to get banned tbh so that they can make a new account t and buy xp boosts to play ranked again lol

Riot doesn't make basically any money off banned accounts -- if that was a goal of theirs, they would probably have much stricter banning policies, and many more "starter pack" deals to get new accounts back in by spending money. This theory is just a conspiracy theory.

Reporting someone for making your game experience unpleasant and unenjoyable isn't always being sensitive -- I'm rarely OFFENDED, for example, but I still don't want to spend my leisure time around complete assholes who wish to belittle my play or my person for thirty minutes straight. So yeah -- if you can't be a decent, half-friendly person for 20-30 minutes? I'd rather you not be part of my gaming community, so that when I want to relax with a game of League I can play with people who both want to play the game AND want everyone to have fun doing so.
