I got perma-banned

Hey, before you guys go all out rage mode on me, saying what I did was wrong, I know. I learned that after my first account got perma-banned. On that account, I was really toxic. I received multiple warnings, including in-game chat restrictions, but in the end, I was too toxic. So I was perma-banned. I learned my lesson from that before starting my second account. In this account, I was rarely toxic. In fact, the only people I was toxic to was trolls and people that literally fed on purpose. I didn't know that being toxic towards people that were purposely trying to ruin your game was going to end in a SECOND perma-ban. AND THIS ONE WAS WITHOUT ANY WARNING! If I was warned AT ALL, I would have stopped being toxic immediately, because I would have remembered what happened to my first account. But not even the smallest warning was given. Not even one that said that I was being reported for being negative and that if I don't change my behavior, I would be punished. So I have one question? Why? I researched about this, and so far it looks like Riot is supposed to warn you before perma-banning your account out of nowhere, unless you are hacking (which I was not). Please help me. Thanks.

I don't see the issue. The context is irrelevant. It doesn't matter who you were toxic to. You were toxic. What's the problem again?

So what? That means you did something bad enough to warrant an instant perma. Your warning is reading the rules & ToS when you signed up/downloaded each new patch.

I looked at other forums and it looks like Riot has to warn you before they perma-ban you out of nowhere.

Certain things warrant an immediate permanent ban. Post chatlogs.

I don't think you want to see the chat logs. I was pretty angry. I know it's wrong, you don't have to repeat that over and over.

I just had a question, and that was whether Riot is supposed to warn you before banning you. According to another forum, it depends on what you're being banned for. If it's bad behavior/trolling/unsportsmanlike conduct (through the Tribunal) you will receive a warning, time bans, and ultimately a perma-ban. If it's for other things like hacking.. only Riot knows.

Hatespeech, including, but not limited to: Xenophobic Homophobic Racist and other similar types of language

Are all immediately punishable on a first-time offense with a permanent ban.

Also, telling people to commit suicide or such also falls under the same punishments.

I'm not going to tell people to kill themselves, especially after a close friend started cutting herself during middle school and died. But thanks for answering my question.

Was losing your first account not enough warning?

What was your thought process?

"Well, I got banned for being a raging asshole, but this time is different"

Is it so hard for you to just shut up and not say things that aren't helpful?

And as others have stated if you use derogatory slurs in chat you get banned real quick

Stop wasting your time. You were prob not toxic to a point where it is ACTUALLY Toxic. Just uninstall. Quit trust me there are far better games out there that are a lot more fun. Try playing overwatch, or borderlands. Those are some really fun games. Maybe fallout? Skyrim? Idk, just uninstall riot only cares about money. Everyone else on the boards will just call you a toxic piece of shit for no reason because they are brainwashed to believe toxicity is saying one single bad word like fuck. ~Shitters gon be butthurt!

From the Instant Feedback System FAQ:

PUNISHMENTS GENERALLY FOLLOW A BASIC ESCALATION PATH:

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

However, it is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. Excessive negative behavior can result in a Two-Week or Permanent suspension at any time without having a chat restriction on the account.

BUT WHAT IF I REFORM? IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO DOWN THE ESCALATION PATH? Yes! Players who show consistent reform or show positive behavior in their games will help heal their accounts reputation.

WHY DID I SKIP RESTRICTIONS? We have a zero-tolerance policy for extreme negative behavior as well as extremely offensive language and remarks made in game towards other players. Since it is a severe disregard for the Summoner’s Code this sort of behavior can result in skipping to a Two week or Permanent suspension. Suspensions of this degree based on negative behavior will not likely be reduced or removed.

Also, not only does Riot have ways of tracking peoples smurf accounts, lower leveled accounts are judged more harshly than higher leveled accounts are in order to prevent people trying to circumvent their punishment on one account and try to be toxic on another account instead.

Odds are that due to your first permaban your ip is on a list and that your actions on future accounts on this ip I highly scrutinized, That or you were REALLY Toxic and pretty much deserved the ban instantly, but that would require death threats or homophobic/racial insults.

Either way, I'm sorry that you got banned, and while I do believe you deserved the ban, I also believe you can rise and improve yourself from it. Third times the charm right? [slayer-jinx-wink]

I'm still not clear as to why homosexuals and "racials" are a protected class. Should not the rules apply evenly to everyone? an insult to heterosexuals by a homosexual should lead to a near-instant permaban just as the reverse should.

I am of the opinion that the disciplinary system should not favor any group of people but rather, should be applied evenly to all players because we are League of Legends players before we are (Insert random irrelevant 'identity' here).

Insulting someone's sexual preference or racial identity is wrong regardless of what it is. And you are correct in how irrelevant these insults are. After all why would calling someone these things be considered ok in a game where these things are not related.

Its not a favor to certain races or sexuality, its the fact that these issues are being brought up in an environment where neither should apply that's the issue.

Instead of so-called "Homophobia" (This does not exist) then you should say "Do not insult others" as a catch-all term which would be even handed. I am strongly against leftism/feminism but I understand that most people here are leftists/feminists so I am alone. Logic and reason have always been a lonely island to dwell in.

That rhetoric aside, as long as the rules are applied evenly to all, then my only beef is that the system is far too draconian.

I am strongly against leftism/feminism but I understand that most people here are leftists/feminists so I am alone.

Gonna let cha in on something. I'm against feminism or at least what ever it was that caused scandals like #shirtgate and the like. And I have no idea what your point in this is. Racial insults apply to every race, White, Black, Asian, Arab, and the list goes on. Likewise Insults towards one's sexuality are equally looked down upon, but do you see trolls and the like calling people "straight?" I'm not denying that there are people that discriminate against straight people, its a messed up world after all. Homophobia exists, I've seen it. People being denied basic services and treated lesser for preferences that would only matter to those interested sexually. People forced to "adopt" their lovers because insurance companies wouldn't extend life insurance to unmarried couples in a time where homosexuals could not marry. Remember "Don't ask, don't tell?" It happened, It existed, and it stills exists.

This is a game where humans, monsters, furry midgets, space dragon, and the undead beat each other up and race to break fine jewelry. Stop trying to make this a political issue when it isn't. This is a completely irrelevant discussion, for this board, for this game, and for the world beyond our screens.

That's a very good question, I'd say Riot began adopting ultra leftist/feminist positions at around the end of S3, roughly.

Even if we follow your nonsense, those characters were created prior to the cut-off point I mentioned earlier but even if they weren't, what point are you even trying to make?

The point I am making is that leftism/feminism is bad and the ultra draconian system is a result of that. I am protesting that system because in my personal opinion, as a player that has been with Riot since the beginning and has purchased much RP is that the system is absolutely wrong and should be overhauled completely. Toxicity is irrelevant, the only thing that should lead to a permaban or even a suspension should be afking, intentional feeding, trolling and use of illegal third-party programs.

But even if we accepted "Toxicity" as a valid reason for permabanning players, the bar should be incredibly high, not incredibly low. That is to say; Only ULTRA high toxicity should be considered, not mildly annoying guy = permaban. I understand that most players are now millenials that are strongly leftist/feminist leaning but that doesn't mean logic and reason cannot ultimately prevail. A disciplinary system must act according to the behavior of the player, adjusting based on how extreme or not extreme the infractions have been....... someone being mildly annoying should never be hit with a permaban or even a suspension, EVER. Moreover, no group should ever be a 'protected class', such nonsense as "Homophobia" or "Racialism" should be cause to dismiss whatever argument the person using these terms within it is presenting, all infractions of this type must be evenly considered, no group of players should be given preference. The rules must apply evenly to everyone regardless of sex, race or political affiliation.

NOTE; I do not violate Riot's rules and always operate within the system. I am protesting a system that is unjust and poorly designed through civil means without insulting the creators or the supporters of said system.

None of what your saying makes sense. Nor does any of this seem like a feminist/leftist conspiracy. I'm honestly trying to understand you, but you have nothing to back your words other then some assumption that whatever the caused the ban was mild annoyance at best.

Listen I'm all for equal treatment and I personally dislike the left, but you got to have more ammo to make claims like this. Especially since I just challenged them on the basis of not making sense. Saying "read it again" isn't a clarification, it's a hand wave.

Regardless, I'm done with this conversation. If you still want to rant illogically about political issues after I had already dismissed that irrelevant for this board. Have at you. I for one have better things to do.

You seem pretty hyper leftist to me, but I guess maybe it's just that your arguments are identical to the average leftist... it doesn't matter anyway. My protest is against the system, not against you. What I care about is the just treatment of players and hopefully, an eventual reform of the disciplinary tactics utilized by Riot.

Civil disapproval of an unjust system is not wrong.
