LP Loss for Dodging

Hi, I'm a Karthus onetrick since season 7. Sorry for my poor English writing. I'm not a native speaker. I only play this champion on this account because he is the only thing that I still enjoy playing in this game. Here is my op.gg: http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=karthùs

This game is taking away the only thing that I still love now. I was on a win streak in Plat with my friend until I started to encounter Karthus bans over and over and over yesterday. To be exact, 8 dodges in a row is what I have experienced. Not only did the game punished me by giving me a 30 minutes queue, but also take away LP whenever I dodge. This is what triggers me. Let's face it. This game is not fun. I only still play it because my best friend is playing it, and I still enjoy playing Karthus every game. However, Karthus suddenly became a "meta" couple days ago. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING. I've been playing this Karthus jungle build since end of the season. Also I was called out multiple times by teammates for "trolling"(picking) as Karthus jungle. It's ironic that Karthus has not changed a bit after the dark harvest rework for almost a month. And people only started to ban him frequently as a jungler SINCE THIS WEEK BECAUSE PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS BROUGHT KARTHUS UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT.

Ok. I'm not very mad that my onetrick for 3 season suddenly becomes an S tier champion because some idiot thinks the dark harvest rework was legit. I'm not mad at all. But do you guys mind taking away the mechanic that takes away players' LP whenever the player dodges? I have a life. I don't have all days to play. So I want to keep a high winrate and small amount of games in order to climb. Now this is all pointless. Long waiting for punishment queues, LP loss for dodging because I don't get my onetrick. If this is something that RIOT rank designers added onto the system intentionally, I'm truly disappointed about this poor decision. And please, don't answer me by just saying "why don't you quit playing Karthus only and try some other champions?". First of all, this is a video game. I am allowed to play whoever I want as long as I don't cheat and be a bad sportsman. Secondly, I have another account that has masteries on every champion just so I can learn about my match-ups.

I'm just desperate right now after dodging my 8th queue that had a Karthus ban. He has been a champion that rarely anyone wanted to pick up until now. I'm glad that more and more people start to appreciate this champion. Yet I'm also sad that they "appreciate" this champion by perma-banning him instead of getting good and learning about this match up.

Please consider:

  1. Change dark harvest, but not Karthus. Karthus did nothing wrong. We can't blame everything on the champion if it was just some designers who didn't even think about how well DH synergies with a champion that almost no one cared about.
  2. Stop taking away LP for dodging. I literally lose more LP than I win in a game that I went 15-2 and carried.

I really hope that reducing the dodge punishment can be considered. Please don't flame if there isn't any disagreement. We can discuss about it like regular human beings, but not screaming beasts who try to eat each others alive.

im sorry but you see they make ppl lose lp to decrease the amount of dodging in rank you might think (but its only 1 min queue!!) but what if a guy went through 20 dodges in a row because the champ this guy ban is an extremely common pick and ppl of that pick always dodge like you?

queue times punishment might be effective in normals because ppl in there dont mind changing champs much but in ranked a lot of one tricks will just dodge because their champion get banned and wont give a small fuck about queue time punishment

are you really blaming RIOT when your one-trick gets banned?

this is a first for me

No. Dodging needs to have repercussions as to avoid actively encouraging it. A queue dodge timer is not effectively enough.

Assuming you are only looking at LP and not promo series too, you are still giving people too much power to control if others get to play. You are focusing on the "my one trick gets banned" and not everything else. Maybe I want to play Sion support and I do it well. Someone dodged because "Sion doesn't support" (despite having a great ability to do so). Now I'm back in queue that can be fast or slow depending on time of day. Another pop. This time someone didn't get the champ they wanted and dodges. Back in queue. "Oh. All AD team. Bye" dodges.

There are also people who leave queue if someone dodges because they assume there was a troll and don't want to risk the new pop putting them together.

Isn't this just a risk that you accept when you decide to become a one-trick? High-profile one-trick players like Tobias Fate or Yassuo still have alternate champs they'll play in a pinch.
