I know most of you are gonna say that playing an off-meta champion in ranked isn't "trolling" and I fully agree with that. But why should I lose LP and get a 30 min ban for dodging a game with with a Heimerdinger jungle with cleanse and ghost who said they were going to feed because i didn't give adc to his premade friend. I just think that riot should implement an "emergency dodge button" to use in these situations.
Actually what riot should implement is a button to report those %%%%%%, and permaban the hell out of them.
Anyway, everytime I've been in this situation, I've played and forced them to lose their LP with me if they troll. And once they have lost their LP with me, I report them for trolling.
agree, but very hard to do that. Ppl will use it all teh time if they dont like the "team composition".
But maybe 1-2 free dodges a day could be the answer:)
The first dodge is low penalty for that reason. The heavy penalty normally only kicks in if you abuse the dodge option.

Because people could abuse this until they find a comp that works. Also its not a lot of lp loss (3lp, then 10lp after) and you don't lose mmr.
you lose LP but you don't get matched with players of lower skill level because of dodges. I think that in itself is a win because there'll be less trolls in the future. I've only dodged a few games but I remember being blocked out of all game modes for the time limit. That's my real problem. If you dodge a ranked game you should be able to play a norm.
That sounds like a cool idea however I think it should be a voting system such as if 3/5 people (to avoid the duo trolls saying no) in the game want to do a safe dodge you can do that.
Having an "emergency dodge button" is impractical. As others have said, it would be greatly abused whenever someone has a team comp that they don't like. The system isn't perfect, and unless Riot reviewed every single case immediately as someone dodged, which is a gigantic use of resources, there would be no way to determine why someone dodged with 100% certainty.
I guess to answer your question, you get penalized because you got caught in the automated system that Riot has implemented that, honestly, is decent. It's not perfect, obviously, but it is decent. You just got unlucky. A lot.
While I understand your pain I believe that it would be much worse if players have consequence free dodges. It would increase that form of threat because (unlike now) it would almost never backfire and drop then in a game where they will be reported and banned, instead other players will either give in or dodge which would make that a successful strategy to get what you want.

You'd never see games start, as as soon as a team comp didn't match your ideal set up a game would stop for nothing. Now throw in 9 other people who also think, and have access to the option of the in lobby free dodge. Nothing would stop somebody from just remaking over the smallest difference of opinion.
It would be used to troll, as it wouldn't be punishable to "dodge a game for free" if you feel a team isn't working. Now every troll can free harass without warning/punishment

I disagree that a dodge would ruin the game.
I think 1 dodge for every 6 or maybe 10 full games played given avid players that would allow an emergency out, and it has to be used within 20 minutes of that match(before surrender kicks in). I think it would help a lot, because yes dodges could cause some hassle but no more hassle than being stuck in a 45 minute game with someone who is doing worse than afk-ing and intentionally feeding(plus when that happens I've seen others go afk next thing it's 2 or 3 earnest players vs a team of 5 with basically an exp boost. Although like someone stated there is always the report button and it's not hard to screen cap someone saying they would intentionally feed and then one of the end result. Use the honor and report system my friends, it's there for a reason.
