How about we educate trolls instead of punishing those who actually want to win through teamwork?

Good evening,

This might seem like a little rant but I've been encountering way too many troll supports recently on the rift and verbally abusive players in other lanes who end up taking the side of the accused. Yet it seems when i try to speak sense and logic in chat, I get pinged as the one at fault and fingers pointed at me for being "negative"/"toxic". In the end, I get chat restricted and punished back to level 0 honor. This feedback system is flawed, it doesn't take into account aggregation nor does it take into account true negative behavior (just like true damage, get it?)

Image Below: Lee one of the people that take Rakans side, says "AND AGAIN GG BRAUM" where braum is actually with his adc, helping him negate damage and ensuring jinx gets ahead. (By means of staying with jinx in lane and helping her avoid gangks through propper warding)

This may seem too far off into a future for a plan, but choosing a role and fulfilling the role is something completely different. When you choose support.. actually support your adc.. not troll and argue that your adc is "bad" when that adc gets lane bullied and outplayed.

P.s 24 hours later, I've now been perma banned for "negative behavior" through arguing, honestly.. chat should just be removed if you ban people for using it to argue with opinionated comments.

I remember recently I got yelled at as braum for "being behind" when our initiator went in (I forget who, but he had alot of mobility). My ADC defended me immediately, saying; "he's peeling like he's supposed to". A lot of people think tank=initiator. They don't realize braum's strengths and the role of protecting the DPS carry. He wasn't a troll. He was just an asshole. I didn't report him, I didn't argue with him. I just kept playing. It's not a big deal. I'm not a coach, he isn't asking for advice, I don't care if he thinks he's right. He will stay whatever rank he is if he continues with that mentality and I can only hope he learns one day. I'm smart enough to know that no matter what I said, he wouldn't actually learn anything under that circumstance.

I wish more people would understand that. Stop trying to teach everyone everything. Just accept that egos will get in the way when people are in a match. They don't want their allies coaching them, they want to be the coach. The most knowledgeable, skilled player in the match. So when people bitch at you and it frustrates you, just mute them. There's no pointing in holding a clinic in the middle of a match and "educating" players. They can look for educational videos on their own time if they want to improve.

Hey, to start I’ve removed your images as the boards prohibit naming/shaming other players. If you have questions about this policy please refer to the Universal Rules in the sidebar or contact us in the Boards Moderation Discord server.

That being said, please keep in mind that if someone is legitimately trolling then they will not be educated no matter how much you try. In fact, this is what many trolls want - they want to get a reaction out of you or others and that usually comes in the form of trying to “educate” them or telling them they’re wrong. There’s no reason to feed the trolls. Just report them if you feel their behavior is inappropriate, and move on.

The education consists of the ability to be tapped on the shoulder 3 separate times and told your chat is unacceptable before being banned from the game.

Given that toxicity statistically makes your team less likely to win, anyone who can't keep a civil tongue in their head is more concerned about their ego than the game.

how about educating kids on what is or is not trolling?

if i take teemo support i get called troll. roam mid to try to make a play - i am Definitely a troll. and then i come back to bot and 'ks' - now im reported and the adc is going afk. and when i start a surrender vote because we are 4v5 and losing 20 to 6 i must be trolling and the rest of the team is reporting me.

... I have played a non-trolling Teemo Support before. It's a very different build and play-style from Top, so trying to shoehorn that would be trolling. But his mushrooms can give a massive boost to vision, so like I said, you would need a build to capitalize on that.
