I received an email today saying that my account got banned because I was using 3rd party malicious programs. I'm so confused right now because I don't use anything that is malicious. I do change my in game voice to Japanese and use SweetFX but I've been using these 2 for over 3 years now. Can someone look into this and help me? Had this account ever since League first released and don't want to lose it.
Altering the game files is technically not allowed under any circumstance, but Riot doesn't typically pursue punishment for harmless skin/sound modifications (though a program with an off-limits feature is bannable even if you don't use that particular feature).
However, those modifications may still trigger a flag on your account that can result in a ban, though normally it would be filtered out. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, my best suggestion would be to submit a ticket and let them know which applications and modifications you used.
