Ever wonder why so many players troll their own teammates? Game theory might help.
Using Game Theory to Explain Trolling
I tend to mute all players when I enter a game just to prevent trolling. This seems to help me play better as a result.

Well, no that's not a great application of game theory. The prisoner's dilemma (and similar models such as tragedy of the commons) works under the assumption that the outcome of your covert choices are contingent upon the covert choices of others. Trolling and flaming are overt behavior. As such, other psychological theories are much better at explaining it.
