Hate speech is not friendly banter. It is one of riot's zero-tolerance policies, and earns an immediate 14-day ban on the first offense.

Doesn't matter if it's your friend, or he's in Discord with you, or if he finds it hilarious -- if you expose other players to that language, it's in violation of the rules unless they specifically opt-in. Use the /whisper command if you want to insult your friends, or queue as a 5-man and use team chat. Don't force other players to see that language.

%%% is likely the f...g....t which is a homophobic term and falls under Riots 0 Tolerance policy which always leads to either a 14 day ban or permaban depending on previous punishments.
