Issues with leave buster

I just don't like how it doesn't check the reason for being "AFK" or leaving the game, I had to do so because the lag actually trapped me in place, in a way where the same screen was just looping. I came back and helped out my team, even apoligized for being lagged out of the game, and I get hit with the leavebuster. I understand it's experimental, but I think there needs to be an edit to help protect the innocent victims of lag

It isn't experimental, even if your lag isn't technically your fault, it still causes trouble for the rest of the players and there needs to be an incentive for you to avoid or fix the issue causing it. If you rarely have issues with leaving, then your penalties will be low or you may not even get one. If you leave games for too long too often, you'll be penalized and it will increase each time. You can read more about Leaver Buster here.

If you are having frequent connection issues , please visit the Connection Troubleshooting Guide for steps, and post over on the Help & Support board if you need assistance from the Rioters there.

The problem is that a client CAN'T tell that. It doesn't know the difference between disconnects -- all it knows is that it's stopped getting data. There's really no way, short of installing some sort of privacy-infringing monitoring software, that Riot can tell WHY they've stopped getting data.
