Perma banned with no Proof

Geno The Great··1 votes·1,157 views

I attempted to log in to LoL for the first time in 1 year only to find out that my account has been perma banned. I am prompted with this message Geno The Great has been permanently banned.

Your chat logs - "We can't display chat logs for this punishment right now. Contact Player supports for more detailed info."

After reaching out to player support and requested to see the logs and they informed me that there is no reversing permabans.

I will admit I did rage a few times in the past when I was younger, however, I've learned and am now a wiser person.

I spent over 300 dollars and many hours on this account. Can Riot Legally perma ban me without providing proof of why?

They can, but they don't ban people for no reason. Clarify that you want to know what kind of behavior the ban was for, not necessarily that you want them to remove the punishment. In cases of cheating/hacking/scripting they can't provide that information to you because it can compromise investigations since people will avoid doing the thing that they were caught for, and it lets them know what Riot isn't detecting. Riot will tell you that if that's the case, though.

If I was banned by a person who made a bad judegment based of limited information in logs that cannot be replicated today is it fair to leave a player perma banned? - or does riot just not care?

I'm just trying to understand?

Riot Employees are human to and who's to say they don't make mistakes.

I don't know why logs from only a year ago couldn't be pulled, but I can ask around and see if someone else from player support has an idea.

I would appreciate that.

Our friendly neighborhood support specialist took a look, and it seems as though this ban was from over 2 years ago. If it were sooner they'd have the logs for you but this was unfortunately too long ago; if you had inquired back when this happened they would've had them for you.

Note to the OP that it might be worth going through your e-mail archives -- there's a small chance that, if you haven't cleared your inbox, you might still have an email with the logs attached from that far back.

It was not banned 2 years ago because I logged in last year! :/

They said to me;

he logged in on 12/23/2015 when he was banned, then goes silent until 9/2/2016, logs in once, then silent again until today in a three month window, he was chat restricted for 205 games

Apparently you were already banned the last time you logged in.

If it's something like hate speech/toxicity in chat, then the automated system takes care of that. I believe permabans are reviewed by a person though, Deep Terror Nami can correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

Usually you go through a 4-tier process starting with 2 chat restrictions, then a 2 week suspension, then finally a permaban. Hate speech and extreme toxicity can get that escalated automatically to a perma, though.

I'm curious, do you remember if you ever had a 2-week suspension and/or were extremely toxic in a game, and then quit League right after for a year...?

I'm wondering, because there's a possibility your account may have been compromised and that could resulted in a ban, too.

Riot can legally do whatever they want with your account. In the ToS it clearly states the account belongs to them, you are mearly borrowing the account. Also they don't need to provide any proof, generally speaking they could just ban you because you slept with their sister, that simple. Sucks to hear you lost your account with all that money invested into it :( but that's how every online game works, the accounts never really belong to us but the publisher and as such they can do whatever they want.
