Language Filter and Being Banned from Negative Attitude.

What is the point of having a language filter if we're going to be banned from it? It doesn't make sense, players should know how to mute other players when they are being flamed etc. The game is for ages 13+ I am sure anyone can take criticism. This game takes punishment too harsh when it comes to being banned permanently for shit talking players in the game. Honestly if its real then its not shit. How many of you think that its unfair for RIOT to permanently ban players for negative attitude and verbal abuse? They should tell the reporters to simply mute and enable language filter if they cannot take it.

Filtering bad words does not prevent you from having a shitty attitude or displaying toxic behavior, it only censors out the single specific words that should not be shown, so turning on a language filter is irrelevant.

Besides, why even resort to having such a crap attitude to begin with? It's only a game.

I agree entirely. Riot has no idea how to manage player behaviour moderation, and that's why after 8 years of the game, after all their inititives and cute little ideas for reform, they still have the title for most toxic community.

They want the playerbase to be toxic, because people just make new accounts, new accounts means more money for them.

League of Legends stopped being a game around season 3.

They have every right. Whether or not that 'right' is effective is a different story.

What LoL has generally become is a riot-suck-up-festival. Most people are itching to report someone else before the game even starts. I know, you can say "mute whoever" but prior to entering/starting the game, you already know which players you're probably going to dislike.

Do I think it's fair? Sure, it's their client which technically is their property. Do I think that reformation is on the incline? No... fuck no. I guess Riot decided that only 5% of its community is toxic (which is probably a false statistic they show you) and that I'm a boosted bonobo.

Same here, ive been playing since 2010 and they permanently banned me because someone couldn't take criticism, etc. How awful whenever they initiated the trash talk to me I just attack them back and unfortunately the things I say are far more harsh, but its the summoners fault for starting with me.

Swearing by itself won't get you punished, but swearing at others will. From the Tribunal FAQ:

1) What's the point of having a language filter if I can get banned for 'adult' language? a) We aren't out to punish players who use adult language; in fact, very few players are ever banned for saying stuff like "f***, I missed that skill shot" or "damn, fing close game!" However, the language filter is not an excuse to verbally abuse someone in the game. When you verbally abuse or harass someone by calling them "fing *****" or "ngger noob", that's when you've crossed the line and will be punished by the Tribunal. I've said this before and I'll say it again, we aren't trying to clean online games of adult language; we're trying to reform or get rid of jerks who like to verbally abuse and harass other players.
