10 game chat restriction becuase of ONE GAME?

Im trying to understand why im being punished with a 10 game chat restriction for a single game. I didnt curse or name call anyone i was merely trying to defend myself from my top laner and the enemy jungle/top flaming me. I recognize i should have muted them and not responded and i also typed a lot. What im asking is why is my penalty so severe for one single game and why did none of the other players get punished when they were not only the instigators but behaved worse.

It is not because of one game. The purpose of that game's chat being sent to you is is that it is a recent game or games that is being sent to you to serve as an example and a reminder of the kind of behaviour that you are engaging in that is consistently in violation of the standards of use that you have agreed to

You don't know that and it is not relevant to the issue at hand.

All it takes is one game. If someone reported you and it turns out to be true, you will get punished.

Should a murderer only be punished after the second murder?

Riot punishes based on consistency x severity. So this is pretty mild, which means you have a decent consistency in doing such.

The reform card shows you 1-5 ** recent** games as examples of unacceptable behavior. It doesn't mean you were punished solely on one game.

While the reform card doesn't have the capability to show more than 5 recent games (I do wish we can get more clarity out of the system), you can submit a ticket to https://support.riotgames.com and ask them how many games you were validly reported in the past 3 months.
