appealing behavior restrictions

Maybe you don't have the resources but you absolutly need an appeals process rather than unilaterally issuing some sort of punishment. The player doesn't get a chance to do anything in response. Its amazing to me how when people are told the truth that they get offended. Bad language is one thing but because someone takes offense to some thing that's said should not be punishable...period.

Players have the option to appeal any punishments to Player Support. However, if the punishments are found to be issued fairly, they aren't going to be removed or lessened. They are only lessened/removed if Support finds them to be issued in error, or overly harsh.

Look, it's very simple. You don't get to choose how people react to your words. You're expected to exhibit a common courtesy to have a reasonable expectation not to piss people off.

It's not purely about "taking offense". If I'm playing a game and doing my best, but you take it upon yourself to call me a "boosted idiot" and do your best to make me feel bad about my performance while spamming "?" pings on me, you've robbed me of some amount of enjoyment of that game. Sure, I can mute you once I determine that you aren't stopping, but then maybe the same thing happens the next game, or the one after that.

Am I going to devolve into a puddle of tears? No, of course not. But maybe I don't feel like logging in for some games the following day, or the following week. Folks going out of their way to make me feel worse about my game performance chips away at my desire to actually play the game. Maybe I take a long break. Maybe I quit. Riot sure as hell is getting less RP purchases out of me.

Ultimately, this is a game and we're supposed to enjoy playing it. Being an asshole in chat acts directly AGAINST that fundamental, basic idea that games should be fun.

Can I ask, what truth are you talking about? Because it sounds like you got hit with a punishment for being a negative Nancy.

People do not gt punished for coarse language. They are punished for targeting players on their team and if they use hate speech/racial slurs/etc in the case of chat punishments.

Where are you obligated to tell the "truth"? The last time I check this game has nothing to do with "truth" telling. What did you think that would accomplish? Make them play better? Automatic one shot to the enemies nexus? No, I don't think typing ever does that. So why did you even bother? Why would you want to offend your teammates or enemies with this "truth" thing when it utterly and absolutely irrelevant to the game?

This isn't a chatroom. This is a video game. Leave your truth thingy out of the game. If they're typing something that's absolutely irrelevant to the game, then mute them. Done. You have no excuse to respond to it.

You break rules, you get punished. There is no need for complicating it.
