The problem with Riot and League

The thing about League is that it's filled with trolls who flame players for an entire game and then report anyone who fires back. It's ridiculous because Riot will punish the players who retort, instead of those starting the whole incident in the first place, while claiming "retaliation is not okay." No, but it is okay for people to trash talk for an entire game, then report anyone who can dish out more than they can take, and get away with it? I just got permanently banned because of this. They send you an auto E-mail saying that: "Your case was reviewed by your peers in the tribunal." which is a complete joke because the Tribunal says it's down for maintenance. The game is full of hypocrites who will report anyone for saying anything negative, while doing nothing but saying negative things to people themselves. It's completely ridiculous and Riot's way of dealing with these people is also ridiculous. I'm sure plenty of new players have experienced this type of thing and I'm also sure that it's very discouraging for them. I've been playing League for a long time now and I used to love it, but now I can see why all my friends stopped playing. Honestly, new players should never even consider putting any money into this game; their accounts will just get banned somewhere along the line. The game is fun as it's free-to-play, but truly not worth putting any money into. Especially not with such a toxic community that so avidly punishes their own toxic players. It's all just ludicrous. I wish good luck to any new players and all veteran players in the Rift, but good Riddance Riot!

Facepalm All toxic players get banned. Not just the ones who retaliate. You think just because you got banned they got away scott free?

I see what you're saying, but when it's 5 trolls reporting one person and that person can only send out one report for each of them; the odds are definitely in the trolls favor.

5 separate reports from 5 separate players equals only 1 report? Yeah, I don't see how that makes any logic, especially when they can each report you for something different.

It's per game, not per player. I can 4 man report a guy every game, but it will only be worth 1 report every game. Rioters explained this in the new system if you were paying attention.

Yeah, the Rioters also say that I was judged by my peers in the tribunal, but it's down for maintenance.

One report per game is worth just as much as nine reports per game. The system is designed this way to prevent premades from gang reporting solo queue players.

The information and the logic are sound. Other peoples toxic behavior is not a valid excuse for your own. Also, context is irrelevant when self-control is expected. That's why only the banned person's log is shown instead of everyone's.

I'm pretty sure you learned if you got perma-banned, whether you make a new account or not. I bet if you do, (you probably will) you will be able to respond with our reportable chats or just ignore them. You don't get banned for doing it once so if you live and don't learn you get banned, then learn. :)

Honestly, it's currently just making me want to create an account for the sole purpose of trolling games. That's not what I'm going to do because I don't troll just for trolling sake, but it's what the perma-ban makes me want to do. Which goes to show that you can't really stop a troll who is truly dedicated to trolling. If I were a truly dedicated troll, I'd already have made another account and I'd be ruining a game for some poor Summoners right now. Trundle

No, I don't think you quite understand. A toxic person will report you regardless, because this is one of the many actions that makes them toxic. When you retaliate with toxicity, is why their reports become valid. When you don't, their reports are not valid, and therefore do not count. YOU are toxic the second you retaliate with toxicity. We call them toxic because their actions are contagious and act as poison infecting many of those exposed to the toxins they expel.

Exactly. The toxicity is contagious and it creates more toxic players who spread it around. Hence, the hypocrisy. If you were a toxic player even one time, you have no room to bash on and report other toxic players for being toxic. Obviously, you do have room to report them it's just a figure of speech.

Well I was suspended from chat, then temp banned, now perma-banned. So yes, there are a couple of warnings but I'm just wondering if those who got me banned were banned themselves being that they started the toxicity in the first place. I realize I shouldn't have responded with more toxicity, but I'm just curious as to whether or not those toxic players have also been dealt with as I have. I reported them just the same as they did me, so I hope so.

The answer is yes, if you report them and it's a valid report then they go through exactly what you did. Next time report them, and make sure they have no valid reason to report back and they get you got, and you don't. :)

It also probably depends on how many offenses they've had before my report. At the very least, they probably got chat restrictions. I can be content with that for now. I'm not an unreasonable player. If I were, I'd have gotten salty already by your not completely agreeing with me on everything and I'd have been very rude but I wasn't because you were respectful with your posts. I just respond to toxicity with toxicity which is a bad habit that I'll have to learn to suppress. If not in League than in any other games I play, lest I get banned from those as well lmao. yeah man, i just had to literally leave a game because i was being flamed as the jungler because my team cant stop dying in lane 5 times every 14 seconds. its getting rediculous. Im about to subscribe to heroes.

That's exactly my point. The entire community is filled with hypocrite toxic players who flame newcomers and people having bad games, then report them for being toxic when they retaliate.

They do this, but your only going to get punished if you were toxic in return. Because, if you were toxic in return, you're adding to the problem. I know sometimes it's really hard not to retaliate with toxicity but it's not impossible.

It's just a complex I have. If I see somebody trash talking, whether it's towards me or anyone else, I have to trash on them until whoever started it ends up mad or crying. Granted, I sometimes take it to an extreme but if you're gonna trash talk on someone, you'd better be sure you can handle just as much as you give out because if you can't I'm going to make you feel like trash. I realize I should just learn to leave it all alone and tend solely to the game at hand :/

Ok well think about it like this, do you see how salty you are right now because you got banned?? That's how they feel when they get banned and will know that anyone who just took their trashy toxicity like a g, didn't get banned.

I get what you're saying but throughout most of my experiences in League, one toxic player begets another. Once one starts up, all the others jump in and it becomes one big toxic orgy of toxic players flaming on toxic players and reporting them for being toxic. There are a select few players who do remain quiet and don't report anybody though. I guess those are the players you're referring to.

No the ones I'm referring to do report everyone that broke the rules while they remained silent in chat or responded in a non toxic manner. I don't like players that just ignore it all together to be honest, just trying to be clear. ;)

Also, yes, a lot of players LOVE to blame their jungler for their own failures in lane.

I mean I've only spent $10 here and there (around $50-60 max) which I realize isn't much when you consider the size of the company, but it's still a contribution. Which was a complete waste, being that I've been permanently banned. :/
