I don't see a point in this game

I haven't played very much League of Legends in a year, school has been most of my life for the past 9 months. I used to be into recruiting for my university to have playing come together to have fun and other events like this. Now though I don't see the point when every game I get people just yelling and typing in profanities all game. I know that the community is toxic, but shouldn't the people who purposely try and flame other players be banned from typing? I refuse to spend any money on a game where from the start people who think they are amazing and when one thing goes wrong they sit in base. Or when another player in our lobby has to afk for 5 minutes because his kid woke up for a second screaming, goes to take care of him, that player who is sitting in base tells him that "and enjoy knowing i'll be on this planet with your kid long after you're gone if korea doesn't bomb the **** out of your family", this is not okay. This is coming from just playing AR URF a few minutes ago. It's a game, if you can't deal with a loss then go play with bots. But with a player as flaming as this one, who says that my report is not going to do anything because he has "Honor level 2" and he has been reported multiple times in the past week.....makes me disgusted that a company lets it's users do this, even after they receive reports. I love the mute button, but sometimes it goes too far that I keep it off so I can record what they are saying/doing in hopes that they will get a ban for what they are doing......whatever my rant is done.... Good luck in your games guys and hope you have a better time then I have.

Riot already bans toxic players. Grow a pair and mute them.

Its free to play game, so your comment about "refusing to spend any money" is meaningless.

I totally understand. LoL is my first ever MOBA and my friend who got me into it warned me that I'll never see a more toxic player base. But I ignored him, because I always see the good in people before the bad, and now after reaching level 30 I just wanna stop playing and get on with my life. It just goes to show that you never know if you're actually playing with a bunch of immature children or adults who just act like immature children. I love the game mechanics and strategy behind everything, but it definitely isn't fun when you have to mute all every game, because everyone's flaming/pinging you to death.

Has Riot removed the language filter and / or mute function?

If people are that delicate and sensitive to adult words, turn the language filter back on that you yourself turned off. Yes, you turned it off, because the default setting is for it to be turned on. Quit sitting there getting butthurt while you read the horrible things in chat and simply mute them. Your passive aggression in this situation is like drinking poison and expecting your enemy to die.

Personally, I am about tired of people threatening to report because they are given correctional advice on their sub-par performance in ranked matches. They want to protest about "toxicity," not even realizing the frustration they are causing 4 other players every game they queue into without doing their due diligence in knowing how to play before queueing into ranked.

Everyone is quick to mention this is a team game, but want to pump the brakes real quick when it is suggested that everyone on the team should be pulling their weight. They forget that they are wasting 4 other peoples' valuable time and potentially costing them a demotion in hard earned rank for playing ranked in the first place with no clue what is going on. Or they are trolling. Or they are on AOL dial up and cannot play due to connection / latency issues. Or insert preventable waste of time / loss causing issue here.

Technically, they are causing the toxicity by not doing their due diligence as a player and not choosing ranked games to practice / learn a new character / role. Should they not be reported for causing the toxicity that caused other players to use bad words at them?

*** TL;DR - Language filter and mute are there for a reason, USE IT. ***

*** Note for clarity - that does not mean anyone should be subjected to hate speech or racial slurs at any time or for any reason. ***
