Had the worse experience in a match and would like to know Riot's stance

I joined a game to try out some support Annie with the new Rune system. My friend gifted me a skin of hers also so even more reason to play her! Hell, I got first blood with a pro flash and Q on the enemy ADC. I was feeling great! Haven't played her in ages and the Super Galaxy skin is just so awesome.

Anyways, I don't typically make forum/board posts like this. But this time i just couldn't sit idle.

I had two players who immediately made %%%%phile jokes about Annie when the match started. One even went as far as to describe it a little. Personally, I find this disgusting behavior. It's not a joke. It's just... despicable. I reported them, of course, but then it go me thinking... if I was the only person who reported them, nothing's going to happen. Or at least, that's how it seems sometimes with this report system Riot uses. I get notifications on occasion when someone has been penalized, but in this case... I was the minority. Hell, someone on the enemy team started making jokes, too.

This player stated they were joking, but %%%%philia is not a joke. Grow up. Get better jokes. This type of behavior is not O.K. Not in a video game. Not in real life. Nowhere is this o.k. It really shook me and I'm quite upset by it.

I'm looking to find out if things like this that are highly inappropriate, are watched more carefully? I know of a few big name game companies like Riot who take this sort situation seriously. Joking or otherwise. What's Riot's stance on it, though? I love this game. Been playing for ages, but this behavior shook me to my core.

p.s. I did google around a bit to see if I could find anything, but I found a whole lot of nothing, sadly. In fact, there's a board post where someone brought up something similar and a bunch of the comments are people being %%%%philes.

I have seen cases that suggest that the system is able to detect and appropriately handle cases of extremely offensive or obscene sexual content.

That being said, if you ever have concerns about a report needing more context or if it is something you feel needs a human, you're always welcome to submit a support ticket and they'll look into it.

Sadly, people are also trying to say %%%% can be normal.

But thankfully the mainstream culture hasn't bought into that "tolerance" yet.

Report the player, teach the IFS that it is not okay via your report. Move on with your life.

I've played quite a bit of Annie support. Never once did I encounter any %%%% jokes.

I agree with you. That is quite literally despicable. Especially the uncomfortability you were in playing that champion as they said that. I would have done the exact same thing you did. However, I would have muted them right off the bad. There should be no tolerance for that. But I'll say this if I feel like my report didn't do anything or I feel like it deserves more of staff's attention, I personally report it to support. Just remember the names and they'll review the log.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Sometimes, even I get disgusted by the internet lack of censorship.

I'm not advocating for %%%%philia jokes or anything but if this offends your sensibilities then you should probably just not read chat and mute all in game. This honestly is the least of what the community says that's terrible. Unfortunately on the internet you will find people just say whatever is shocking or crazy to get a giggle even if they do not exactly mean it. Anonymity makes people say the weirdest shit.
