Negative teams

Ok so I've been playing League for 3 years now.I've had negative teams now and then but they weren't really that bad.Until this season.I've always been a happy league of legends player and not toxic at all until I got these teams.Ever since the new season started I had been getting very toxic team mates.I had a Malphite want to report me because I lagged.I tried to explain to him that you cant do that because lag happens all the time. But he did not listen and cursed me out.I then had another game where I played bot lane.I'm not so good at being the adc so I didn't play my best in the game.I even told my team that I wasn't good at it so if I messed up with my build or missed cs I apologize. We lost that game and again I was being flamed. My support and top lane wanted to report me because I didn't build correctly.I tried to apologize and again said I didn't know how to play adc that well.My top lane said I sucked and that I do not deserve to play League Of Legends and should just kill my self now.Now I understand flaming in ranked but this was in normal. This made me get very upset and did file a report.I'm just really upset with the server and people we have on here.I know people will say that and that it's every where but still those people should be reported and banned just for saying that.People have no idea who you are and do not deserve to be told to kill yourself.I'm just hoping this gets fixed and that League will be fun again for me.Until then I'm not sure if I want to play League anymore with people like that.

First things first: Don't apologize for being bad, git gud.

That's crappy advice, but it's that simple. Don't apologize for bad gameplay, only work on improving where you have drawbacks. People will respond to your already negative "I'm sorry...", if you're learning, you're allowed to be bad at something.

Second point: If lag is recurring, I can't tell you not to play LoL, but I wouldn't advise it. As a team game, your team relies on you to hold your end up. By starting a game, you agree that "I can play my role." and if the lag is so recurring that you can't play your role, you for lack of better phrasing lied when you started the game. If your lag is infrequent, it's beyond your control. Don't apologize. Work on countering the negative effect it had on your game. If you died, work on lining up kills or getting kills. Earn your way back into the match.

While you might feel bad and want to apologize, it's not always a good thing. While it's manners and apologies are a good thing normally, you set yourself up for "I'm sorry, I'm bad at ADC." to which any teammate would ask "Why are you playing it then?". IF you instead rephrase that to "I'm working on getting better with ADC." that's definitely more positive. You actively are putting it forward that you're improving, not that you're already ready to be bad.

You can only counter negative behavior by being more positive in response or in some of the most toxic cases, muting players.

Eh, people get heated and they get aggressive in their typing. Just focus on controlling your emotions and don't take it to heart. That can be difficult if you have 4 people scapegoating you, but some friendly banter with the enemy team might cheer you up. When people get mad, they smell for blood in the water. Looking weak or at fault or aggressively defensive can just escalate. I would recommend the above as having a nonchalant outlook is pretty liberating.

If that doesn't work in a particular game, the mute button is always good. I would recommend the allchat banter though. It'll add a bit of levity to the situation.

It's currently so fucking bad I'm done with the game for a while. Severe changes need to take place.
