Justice System Needs Some Work

Now I know at first this post just looks like the plethora of other whiny posts around here, complaining about the fact that they got banned and blablabla. This post isn't about claiming I should be able to say whatever I want without consequences. However I do believe they way Riot handles there "Verbal Abuse" bans needs to be fixed. I recently received a 14 day ban accompanied by a very small chat log. This was my first time offense with the justice system and I'll confidently say this wasn't a collective deal because in most of my games I barely say anything at all. Now before I give you the chat logs and I am eternally shamed out of existence let me give you some context. The enemy team in this chat log were literally named and I quote "Gay Boy One, Gay Boy 2, Gay Boy 3, and Gay Boy 4". Game 1 Slannesh: sup %%%gots Slannesh: blue leash would be nice Slannesh: thank you cho Slannesh: this is trumps america %%%got Slannesh: joe biden? Slannesh: ill be top as soon as i get 6 cho Slannesh: cho let them push top Slannesh: omw top Slannesh: focus quin cho Slannesh: Herald is more important then one kill Slannesh: bot Slannesh: your too far up Slannesh: let them push Slannesh: herald please Slannesh: someone Slannesh: cho help Slannesh: pushing herald bot Slannesh: push to win Slannesh: omnomnom Slannesh: looks like the gays have lost yet again

Now like I said before, I understand what the trigger word was that got me banned. Don't say f***** , got it. However it just seems silly to me that if you look at the chat log as a whole, you can clearly see I was joking and laughing with the enemy team, never at any point was anything said in a derogatory manner with the intention to hurt anyone. If a group of 4 people name themselves this they are obviously looking for the attention and dramatic effect. If this is all it takes to get an immediate 14 day ban within an hour, than how come the game is still PLAGUED with people that are GENUINELY TOXIC. People are type a million words per minute saying "you suck noob gg" and "uninstall retard" or the classic "mid or feed". I get stuck with people like this EVERY GAME but the one time I throw in some political satire and one or two questionable statements BOOM immediate 14 day ban. I just don't feel like that is an appropriate warning. All it would take is perhaps a chat ban (although I know they claimed those didn't work). I'm not talking a 2 week chat ban. Just a 4 or 5 game chat ban, and then closely monitoring them for a while afterwards to see if they got the message. Hell even a 1 or 2 day ban and I would of gotten the picture. Riot needs to change their approach to verbal abuse bans. A 14 day ban is not appropriate for one or two edgy phrases in ONE game. And before you say "Oh well LoL community is really toxic and its what they need to do to keep the trolls in check" well its clearly not working. I would rather have someone in my game saying %%%got once, than someone blowing up the chat with 'GET GOOD GG NOOB YOU SUCK KYS". I have been called much worse things than a f***** by many people consistently throughout entire matches, and I have a funny feeling that the majority of them walked away scott free. League is the ONLY big title online game I can think of that will hit you with a 14 day ban for two statements, yet they still have one of the most toxic, volatile, and unwelcoming community's around.

In this case, your punishment was automated and you got baited (from what I can tell) into being banned. I mean... you can try to message riot to contest the ban but even they will agree that there is a 0% tolerance for the use of that term, regardless of the situation.

You should have it as personal rule to not use any offensive language, for any reason and not use terms that can get you an instant 14 or perma if the system automatically detects them in these games.

If anything, you should also send in a ticket for "offensive names" and return the favor. Those guy's should not have names like that.

I report people for using homophobic or racial remarks regardless of context. This isn't your bus ride home from school. We are not your coworkers shooting the shit on break. Many people do not subscribe to your crude brand of humor, so while I may type "lol" and sincerely enjoy your joke, get banned cuck.

You are punished based on severity and frequency of your actions, and league holds hate speech and encouraging suicide as a severe offense, causing you to skip punishment tiers. Other forms of toxicity are put through punishment tiers, starting with chat restrictions, a 2 week ban, and finally a permaban. After coming off a 2 week suspension, you're on thin ice. If you continue toxic behavior, your next punishment is a permaban.
