Account was banned out of nowhere, extremely devasted.. help!

Hoping this forum would help shed some light here. Been playing a lot more recently and have just started to hit a groove and then today I received an e-mail from Riot saying my account was banned for using 3rd party programs. I do admit to using Championify to pre-populate items during gameplay, but I had double triple checked to make sure it was OK. Is there anything else I can do to prove my case?

Here is what I wrote to Riot support:

I don't know how to dispute this request other than to say I've been playing this game for several years now and have not used any 3rd party program of any sort to afford me any unfair advantage over other players.

In addition to the hundreds of hours I've poured into playing this game, I've also spent hundreds of dollars on RP as I am a huge fan of the game and the company. To receive this ban is devastating to say the least, as I play almost every day and use it to keep in touch with friends, former coworkers, and family.

I do admit to using Championify to save me from having look items up on mobafire, but I had originally thought its use was supportd by Riot. Short of any viruses on my machine, I don't know what else could've triggered your 3rd party detection system.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to expedite the dispute process. I would like to get back to playing this wonderful game again!!

Same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago now. Only with me I wasn't even using anything that could possibly be questionable. Only voice chat like curse or discord. Never used any hacks or anything else they claimed. Didn't even know what scripting was until i got the ban and looked it up on the forums. Went through 3 tickets with support to no avail. 6+ years gone in a blink and they wont even consider an error might have been made. I just gave up and uninstalled league shortly after because, much like Vinsewah, since I have no idea what got me banned to begin with, what am I gonna do? Start over and waste hours upon hours getting a new account rolling just to get banned again? Will most likely never play league again and heaven forbid i ever did return, I'm sure as hell not giving them another dime. I've yet to see anything or anyone say a ban like this have ever been overturned so it seems pretty hopeless to me. It's either quit or start over.

Honestly, this is the ONLY reason I dislike player support. When they say they rechecked their list once again, and verify, THEY REALLY DONT. They don't give a damn about actually helping players. They just want their paycheck and they're done. My heart goes out to you, dude. You don't deserve this ban, as you seem to have not used third party programs.

But another question, not to say that I blame you for this, but: Did you ever click on a link for free RP, and post your information? It is likely that your account was invaded by someone who uses 3rd party programs, and gave your account as a sort of scapegoat.

In any case, here's to you, dude. Hope you have a wonderful life, never to be wronged by people such as the "support" that Diana Main has given you.

Alrighty, I must of looked over that last time I read the post, my apologies.

Just wait for Riot to respond. It might be sometime tomorrow that they do considering it's rather late.

Sighs... here was Riot's official response:

Hello Summoner,

Accounts that are caught using hacks to gain an unfair competitive advantage are subject to permanent suspension. We work hard to preserve a fair and competitive environment in League of Legends. Regardless of intent, use of unauthorized third-party programs is explicitly against the Terms of Use, which can be found here:

NA: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/legal/termsofuse

I can't really get into the specifics of what program exactly caused the suspension, but our system detected the use of unauthorized exploits within your games, meaning that regardless of what happened the account will not be able to be recovered.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Here was my response: Today at 10:53 Hi Diana!

I totally understand Riots policies regarding unauthorized exploits and I'd like to understand as much as possible to prevent this from happening again on this account should the ban be lifted or a new account.

Aside from the three programs, Discord/Lol Replay/Championify I do not use any other programs during game play. I know false positives have happened before and I only ask that a second look at the data be examined before we close this case.

I am pushing hard on this because I know Riot's policy on this regard is strict and before deciding to use a program (such as those three mentioned above) I double triple check to see if they're authorized for use. I also personally am against scripting/hacking of any kind since that defeats the purpose of the game and I would not be playing this game in the first place. I am also willing to provide any materials/diagnostics from my machine to aid in the investigation. All I ask is for a fair/objective second look at my account. All my games were hard fought and played on my own and through no aid of 3rd party programs.

Just got slapped a final verdict and can't say I'm not disappointed. Forget the money spent on the account, it's the obscene amounts of time I've spent playing the game, building friendships through solo queue, my hand crafted runes/mysteries, my clubs is all gone with a unilateral decision based on a set of heuristics that have been known to generate false positives, i.e. Imaqtpie. What's worse is that I don't know what about my system triggered their 3rd party tool detection. What if I were to invest the time into grinding through another account only to have it banned again? Here was Deme Levato's response:

Hey again,

I'm sorry to say, but I have double checked this and our system detected the use of unauthorized third party programs within your games. Seeing as we have a zero tolerance policy on the use of such programs, appropriate action took place on the account.

I was also unable to see any signs of unauthorized activity on the account, meaning any disciplinary action that has taken place on your account is under your responsibility as the account owner.

We have explained the context of your suspension, will not remove or modify it, and consider the matter closed.

Riot support doesn't give a fuck. They have thousands of other people giving them more money than you. Unbanning you would mean admitting to making a mistake, which Riot almost never does. Tuck your tail between your legs, make a new account, and go back to giving them money like the brainless sheep they want you to be.

and have they replied?

vinsewah4/27/2017, 5:23:05 AM1 votes

Still no further response from Riot. Is there anything else I can do at this point. Does riot not care about user retention?

Buying RP doesn't exempt you from following their rules.

As for Championify, seeing as it's a thing that you apparently have to get from Reddit following a quick google search... I'm going to say you took a BIG risk using it. If that's all you use, then it's possible it added some sort of scripts that aren't allowed by Riot that isn't listed on the Reddit page.

All 3rd party applications are a use-at-your-own-risk. You took a huge risk, and paid for it. I recommend reading this post by Wuks. It talks about 3rd party apps and even says a few that are allowed and which are risks to use.
