Thank You Riot (Your thoughts on Riots Season Rewards decision?)

Is there any way for me to personally tell riot that I'm sorry, and thank-you for the ban I received? It may sound odd to thank Riot for banning me, but I'm being honestly sincere.

I'm pretty bummed that I'm not able to receive seasonal rewards due to the first ban I've ever received in my three years of playing this game, It was a 14-day ban, and despite what I had said, not being as bad as some of the stuff I've seen in the tribunal, It's sincerely given me a new perspective on this game.

For the countless amounts of money that I have spent on this game, and all the time I've played with my friends, I've not once discovered what I personally had to improve on to get better at this game. And that my friends, is being positive in chat.

If your team mates do or say anything negatively in game, you should:

  1. Encourage them to keep their heads up and not to give up
  2. Just mute them.

There's really no sense with debating with someone toxic on your team and in turn being toxic back, even if they do 3 man report you because they're all playing together, just mute them and get on with it.

And my ban sentence has enable me to realize this, which is what helped me to move on to gold after being stuck in silver for so long.

And with that, Thank-you Riot. You've helped me eliminate my inner asshole and achieve greater heights.

Be grateful that you guys still have your accounts, it's only season rewards, not the end of the world.

I think the policy of removing eligibility for rewards was a great addition. Although I'm not a huge fan of some of the details of its implementation.

I have mixed feelings about the 3 month cut off and would rather see it be any ban during the season. The more I think about that I don't think its that big of a deal. Being 14 day banned means you are 1 step away from perma ban so if they ever reoffend they are going to lose the rewards anyway.

My biggest problem with the implementation is that it didn't include chronic leavers. Maybe since some leaving is to be expected that it should be pretty lax like if you got 3 separate 20 min low priority queues but some level of leaving should have been included.

Also I would like to see the specifics laid out at the start of the season rather than near the end. Its much more established now that they have done it 2 years in a row so I guess realistically that is just going to passively become less of a big deal.

To those of you wondering about being banned before hand, no, I had never been banned before my 14-day. I have no reason to lie about such a construct, only baffled, since I had never been banned (chat restricted, day bans, etc.) beforehand.

Most of what was said was in follow up with me trying to support and defend my friend. But as you know, teams of 3 or 4 (premade in normals) tend to be toxic at times.

Honestly, I'd just want some critique on how well the new system is designed, was a 14-day ban really necessary for what I had said?

Except punishment tiers are not new. What is new is the first two tiers are chat restrictions instead of 1, 3, and 7 day suspensions.

The policy for people who had bans and such IMO was a terrible idea, if I finished the season in gold I deserve that reward because I'm not sitting in bronze being terrible. Punish toxic people by banning them, they cant get season rewards if their account is perma banned.... Just because you received a chat restriction doesn't mean you shouldn't get a reward for what you worked all season for.
