Instantly banned for 14 days after saying %%%, is this word really so hateful and stuff that its worth that much? (zzz was tilted asf cuz had nasus in my game going mid with me and dying/stealing cs, for reason i dont know, he even wrote "top" lol ) .

Btw does anybody know what is this weird button named "mute" ?

Short answer is yes. It's a derogatory term that has serves no other purpose than to insult an individual based on a homophobic meaning, and, as such, is hate speech.

Btw does anybody know what is this weird button named "mute"?

That weird button is used so you don't have to put up with continued toxic behavior. It does not exist as an excuse to allow it.

Because the insult inherent in hate speech is derived solely from the fact that you're suggesting a fundamental trait of someone else (skin color, religion, sexuality, etc) is somehow worse and/or bad enough to be an insult. It's an insult effectively derived from racial/homophobic hate, and nothing else. Hence it's fundamentally an insult to an entire group of individuals, and nothing BUT an insult to that entire group of individuals.

I'll be honest -- that doesn't really explain it. I'm not sure I'd call it an overreaction to say that it's not really appropriate to go "hey, let's use this already often oppressed social identity as an insult and expect everyone to just smile and play along." That sort of response is, frankly, a large part of what leads to those groups feeling -- completely reasonably -- more hated.

A better takeaway is "don't insult people in chat, period." Your account just had the last strike it gets, and further problematic behavior of any sort can get you permanently banned at this point.

From what I’ve seen culturally the word is used in Europe a lot more than the US. Here it is pretty insulting. I personally hate the word and find it very rude...this is coming from a straight male. I would report you if you used it.

Riot handles hate speech with zero tolerance, so the first infraction is a 14-day ban. Your next infraction of any type will be a perma until you've demonstrated good behavior over many games, so be on your best behavior from here on.

i mean its not that hard, i jsut wont type %%% and kys right, i just find it funny that, its so easy to get banned for 1 word. It looks like word is goin to end if ppl are offended by smth like this. Worst part is that i NEVER EVER play normals, just played 1 game, said %%% and insta ban XD.

Tbh i called ppl worse than this, not proud of it but almost every game that isnt stomp, someone in team will flame/be toxic, and dont get punished for it ( taking myself as an example) Just was suprised that i got banned for saying actually 1 word 3 times, when i was so awful person in other games ( sory for bad english)

Just be aware that now that you've received a 14d ban, your next punishment will be a permaban ( even if you're not using any hate speech or so ). You'll be on thin ice so just be really really careful with what you say as just one game of toxic behavior will be enough to trigger it.

"f g t" and kys are zero tolerance words. They trigger the automatic ban system and yes, it was deserved.

You should learn some discipline and I hope the 14 day ban will bring it to you. If not, the perma ban is right around the corner.

i get that "f g t" and kys are zero tolerance words. ( too bad that it isnt writen anywhere that u get insta ban for writing on of those) and that its automatic ban, but is it rly how it should be? "it was deserced" i get kys, telling someone to die isnt right but f g t ? are u telling me calling someone GAY is the same as telling them to kill themselves? im asking how YOU really feel about it

It's not that you're calling someone gay (which is problematic for a similar, but lesser, reason than what I'm about to explain). It's that you're equating being gay with being undesirable enough to be an insult, and then compounding that by using a term specifically intended to be as offensive as possible to that group of people. It's an insult based in hatred of a group of people at its core, and that's completely unacceptable. And yes, it's about as unacceptable as telling someone to kill themselves: neither has ANY place in a respectful community.

Well at least it wasn't perma and now you know the consequence of saying it. You should check out the summoners code just to be safe. Ignorance gets a lot of people banned.
