Wanting fun = inting?

So, I played a Twisted Treeline game with a friend, when we met this rather salty player. The fact that he was salty didn't surprise me, but that he would report me for inting. Every game I enter with a good attitude, always Writing "Hello, GL & HF (' u ')" and hope that the behaviour will spread creating a better Community.

I was 9/6 as Taliyah, doing my best as always, but I had this "discussion" with the salty player (screaming "noob idiot" in capslock, while I answered nicely). He told me some rather interesting, yet scary things. He said League of Legends is a competetive game, anyone who doesn't want to win is an idiot and should be permabanned. He said that for wanting fun and not always tryharding, I am ruining peoples games. I said that I want to win, but still want to have fun. I told him that if he wants to tryhard, he should play ranked and not normals. He said that any League game, ranked or not, is competetive and not for fun. If that is really so, and that I am ruining peoples games, I want to know how I can stop doing so. Most of my in-game friends like me alot because I always try to be nice and try to win, and it is sad that I ruined that persons game. I want to improve.

He then told me everyone who wants fun should go uninstall League and be permabanned, and he reported me. I had to report him back, there is tons of salt I haven't even mentioned here. The salt itself is not the scary thing, rather the mindset of the player. I don't believe my report will do much at all, and I am scared that this player will walk in the League society without anyone stopping him. if he continiues like this, I am afraid he will not only ruin people's games, but people's mindset, creating more players like this.

Does anyone know what Riot thinks about this behaviour? About people who report those who want fun? Those who flame and scream in capslock, at anyone who doesn't tryhard? Is there any way I can do anything about this?

ps. sorry for venting in this post, the game affected me pretty much, I've never gone this far with something before.. I should probably have muted him, but I wanted to understand him, perhaps help him, even though i failed horribly :c

Nope. It's a game. You need to keep it fun, because if you don't your stress will inhibit your mind and you will make narrow and bad calls. Which then make you lose games, but because your mind has blinders on due to stress you no longer see what went wrong and lash out at others. aka the birth of salty players that lose more than they should because the're no longer relaxed and having fun and then flame team-mates to tryhard more because obviously they are to blame...

Step away from that circle, have fun. You can easily google the inhibiting effects of stress and anger if interested btw.

while he clearly went about it the wrong way. i agree with him that people who arent playing to win "at least in ranked" should stick to single player games

he was obviously trolling, if he cared about people ruining games he wouldn't be calling people noobs etc when obviously that would ruin people's games.
