Why Post/Pre Game Chat Logs?

I would like to know why pre and post game chats are included with chat restrictions and bans. Arent you not supposed to flame in game because that will affect that current game? Why ban someone on the terms of something that happened before the game and even worse, AFTER the game is over. Those players will probably never meet each other again. I just dont get how PC you want your games to be while at the same time simultaneosly losing a playerbase. I want an answer since riot games is always vague. What made you all decide to include pre and post game chat in bans? How are they relevant to the game that is being played? Seems like another way to alienate a playerbase and stop giving out free stuff (keys and chests).

They pre and post game chat have actually been a factor in punishments for a fair amount of time. Before though, the server they would log on didn't play nice with the reform card program (chat logs page).

That has changed recently.

As to why, well why not?

If someone is trying to force a dodge or position change using chat in pregame and then still forces themselves wherever in game; why shouldn't it be used?

If someone decided to hold all their toxicity until post game, why not hold them responsible?

Especially with cases of hate speech encouraging self harm. Zero place for that here.

why do you think you have the right to flame people without consequences in any place?

Because toxicity is not okay regardless of where it is. Toxicity is toxicity regardless of where it happens. I don't want to see toxicity in pregame, in game, or post game. Most players think the same way as me.

It's not a matter of being relevant to the game. It's a matter of making an environment players enjoy playing in.

Because you're still expected to be civil in pre-game lobby and post-game lobby. It has always been the case but only recently has it automatically been included in the chat logs when you receive a punishment.

Why are you still expected to be civil you may ask? Because it's still part of Riot's game and Riot wants to make sure that customers aren't put off by assholes.
