Is having a conversation the same as being toxic? Unjust ban, hopefully it can be reversed.

Hello Rioters, my account was recently permanently suspended for what I believe to be of no valid reason. Yes, I used curse words in some games, but everyone does. It's not that big of an issue when everyone is enjoying the game and my teammates and I use curse words in some messages to relate to something. This is the first time I've ever been permanently banned and it's very frustrating as I'm currently in the Military and I'm going through a lot and League of Legends is my ticket to feel sane and stable. If I'm going to get a suspension, can it e a 14-day suspension? I haven't done anything so major that I deserve a permanent ban. Your tribunal system seems to just hand out permanent bans nowadays, since I've witnessed both my friend and my younger brother have their accounts permanently banned after something as little as using multiple curse words in ONLY one game. Please Riot, from a fellow servicemen, I am asking for a simple review in my case and a potential uplift from the ban to at least 14-days. What ever happened to giving out punishments that actually made sense, e.g. 1-day ban, 7-day bans, etc. In one of the cases, for example game #1, the person I was arguing with continued to bash and harass me but that person doesn't receive a permanent ban, let alone a single suspension. Please look into this matter as the games I've been playing have been helping me dearly. I play with people who have anxiety problems and such as myself with players that have ADHD.

I've submitted a ticket before already to see if I can receive legitimate help instead of an automated response from a Rioter. I've been playing since late beta/post beta pre-season 1 and it's incredible how drastically your punishment system has changed. No longer do players receive chat restrictions from what I'm experiencing. Here's a copy of the chat logs:

Now I've spoken to my fellow friend whom is apart of the Tribunal and he says the punishment I SHOULD of received is either chat restriction OR a 7-day ban. How does 1 game of slight toxicity trigger a permanent ban? Now with all of this being said, I feel that I'm not safe enough to play the game without receiving a ban, even if I'm just having a formal conversation with teammates/opposing fellow summoners, and we use curse words while discussing something. Everyone uses vulgar language, especially adults, but most of the time we use it without it bringing any conflict to the party. I'm pretty sure that Rioters curse as well, as I've heard Phreak and other Rioters curse while being LIVE on Twitch.tv and it's just natural, it's a form of expression and I don't see why I should be punished for it. Yes, there was ONE game, where it was slipping into the out of hand category but even after the game ended, the person I was 'arguing' with continued to bash me and even stated, "I hope you die" at the end of the conversation only because I refused to be apart of a game where the outcome stays the same and I'll be bashed for not being able to perform due to another teammate ruining the game for everyone else.

I've spent approximately close to $6,350, maybe more maybe a tad bit less, on this game. That includes 1 beta account, 3 post-beta accounts, 6 smurf accounts with around 50-120 skins each and my brothers accounts' when it comes to gifting and/or buying skins on their accounts as gifts or out of "what the heck" moments. I was never even given a Chat-Restriction or warning for these actions which in the past, more specifically Season 2-3, warnings and small length bans were given as a form of "hopefully you can help yourself learn what you've done and we won't ban you. But if you keep it up, there are more harsher punishments" type of attitude towards situations like this. Nevertheless, I LOVED Pax and I still want to continue to be apart of the League community as this game is honestly an addiction for just feeling happy and stable. Please Riot, consider this and I hope there's a better outcome to this.

Your very first game has you calling your teammate a retard and asking for a report in the first few lines. Both of these things are considered toxic.

I'll agree that Riot seems to be jumping the gun lately and just handing out suspensions and bans, but you're not entirely innocent in this. Those aren't 'just a few cursewords'.

If you really did talk to your friend, then he's giving some WAY outdated information. Riot's disciplinary measures has changed a lot since Seasons 2-3.

First of all, if you're talking about the Tribunal where players vote on cases, that has not existed for over 2 years. As of right now, it's an automated system that, to put it simply, has been programmed to go through a reported player's chat logs to find anything punishable. If it does, it gives a punishment, and if not, then it does not give a punishment.

Also, as far as punishments go, 7-day bans do not exist anymore. The punishments for chat related offenses are as follows:

1.) 10 game chat restriction 2.) 25 game chat restriction 3.) 14 day ban 4.) Permanent ban

The way it works is, your first offense will give you the first tier punishment, and every offense after that will raise your punishment by one tier, until you reach a permanent ban. It is possible to lower your punishment level by one tier if you go 3 months without receiving any punishment.

Also, something to note is that severity is rarely a factor. If your case is severe enough, Riot will escalate you straight to a 14 day or permanent ban without any prior punishments, but other than that severity doesn't really matter. If you do something punishable, it doesn't matter how "minor" it may be, you will still be escalated to the next highest tier of punishment, and yes that does include permanent bans. This means that any thing that can give you a 10 game chat restriction can also give you a permanent ban, if you do it often enough.

For your case specifically, have you received a 14 day ban within the past 3 months? If so, then a permanent ban is standard punishment for someone in your situation. If not, then Riot very likely felt that your behavior was extreme enough to escalate you straight to a permanent ban.

Either way, though, if you feel this punishment is wrong, you can contact Riot through support here and ask them to look over the case again. It can take a while to get an actual good response, so try to be patient. Also, don't get your hopes too high, because it's quite unlikely that they will lift your permanent ban.

As Zombie said, you can try contacting support to see if they'll review your case. I'm sorry that you got punished if just because you seem to really be invested in this game heavily but...man, it's tough not to think you deserved some kind of punishment for the text here. There's one thing to swear (IE "F!@#, sorry, didn't think I'd take tower aggro") but it's another thing to use it to abuse your teammate/opponent, which is what I'd say is here ("nasus. you're s!@#. REAL."). You've also got a lot of things here that are just plain negative, insulting, and belligerent - not at all a "conversation" piece, but wholly harassment.

If they do choose to only give you a temporary ban, please please PLEASE think before you type. Build your teammates up and get some good-natured ribbing going without insulting people. Remember, this is just a game.

I doubt they'll look fondly at your text but good luck nonetheless.
