Banning System

Hello everyone looking at this post. Im here about the banning system, since ive heard from friend they agreed my point. So on my main account, (GokkeDyret Huggo) i got my perma ban. I was toxic. I agree, i was toxic. I said words i shouldnt have said. And now, with the new preseason im ofc sad because my 36k+ blue essence, skins, champs, and so on is locked away. It was my fault i got banned, i know. So when i got my ban, i was thinking how the system worked. So i reached the support and got my answers. It works like this. If u report a player for feed, it will check how many deaths, kills and assists (as i understood it). If u have have 20 deaths, it will ban u. If u get reported for verbal abuse (or what its called) it will check if u type %%%got, gay, retard, bitch etc. (edit me if im wrong). But it cant see how people play. Yes, i know the concept. Dont fight fire with fire. And what if u have a really bad game, where u get 15 deaths. If your team dont like u, they can report u, and then u get ban? The game i got my ban, I was playing ranked. (For some weird reason i cant get find the game, so i cant give 100% accurate info) I had 2 trollers. They troll picked and played bad/a bit feed, and they flamed, the whole game, and i lost it. I just lost it. I dont know what happend, but i went nuts. I know what i did was wrong, really wrong. I was highly offensive, but now its too late. All the time, effort and money i put into this, its gone, because i couldnt control myself. I know everyone can just say they are sorry and then ask for a ban-remove. But that game, and all other games. I know its wrong to flame/being toxic. But it feels like Riot bans the ones typing the offensive words, rather than the players troll and making them toxic. It like taking the leafs of a tree, they will grow out again. But if u remove water, the leafs wont grow(hope u get the point). Same goes for toxicity. If u remove the trollers people have nothing to flame about. Still, i know people will flame u if u play bad, ''havent ganked enough'', or failed a smite on the last baron. Those should be punished. I think its wrong to flame people for playing bad, ive had many bad games myself, where i couldnt farm, get some good picks or making some plays. I dont have a solution to this. U cant program a bot to check if u emote spam when your teamate dies, or hitting the plant so ur teamate gets knocked back into enemy team. The only thing i think could work, if every new season. You get ur banned removed. So instead of Perma ban, its 'Season ban'. I dont know how this would work, but thats the only thing i can think of. But luckely Riot games have the money, time, crew and effort to figure something out. If u have come this far in you reading this, thank you for your time.

Kind Regards, GokkeDyret Huggo/ImSingle

PS, feel free to type your opinion and points to this.

If u report a player for feed, it will check how many deaths, kills and assists (as i understood it).

This is inaccurate. The system can -- to my knowledge -- detect purchases, death timings, damage, CS, movement patterns, etc. It is pretty good at differentiating between doing poorly and intentionally feeding.

But it feels like Riot bans the ones typing the offensive words, rather than the players troll and making them toxic.

Riot bans both, and it bans trolls aggressively. The only catch is that trolling behavior is sometimes a bit harder to detect, so it can take a little longer (which is somewhat mitigated by intentionally throwing a game being a 14-day ban on the first offense).

U cant program a bot to check if u emote spam when your teamate dies, or hitting the plant so ur teamate gets knocked back into enemy team.

You can, actually. Both of those behaviors would be pretty easy to detect. If emote spam starts becoming a huge trolling issue, I'm sure Riot will address it accordingly.

The only thing i think could work, if every new season. You get ur banned removed.

This would lead to a massive increase in toxicity at the start and end of every season, and I can't in good conscious say I support this idea. It takes a lot of toxicity to earn a permanent ban, and I don't think it should be rolled back at all, let alone with this regularity.

If u report a player for feed, it will check how many deaths, kills and assists (as i understood it).

What the support rep also should have told you is that these are some of the things it looks at. There are other factors such as pathing and builds (and more) but Riot can't disclose alot of information. They should have told you that they can't release more information, because people have previously used information givent to make investigations harder.

If u get reported for verbal abuse (or what its called) it will check if u type %%%got, gay, retard, bitch etc. (edit me if im wrong). But it cant see how people play.

If you get reported for verbal abuse, seeing how people play is irrelevant. But yes, it does check for words. More importanlty it checks for consistency. It doesn't punish you for being toxic, it punishes you for being consistently toxic.

Yes, i know the concept. Dont fight fire with fire. And what if u have a really bad game, where u get 15 deaths. If your team dont like u, they can report u, and then u get ban?

Nope. The system is already not very effective at detecting inters, it's VERY rare it falsely flags someone falsely.

But it feels like Riot bans the ones typing the offensive words, rather than the players troll and making them toxic.

The problem is that Riot tries to do both, but fails at detecting inters. The reason for this is because people often report someone falsesly for inting, when they in reality just had bad games.

The only thing i think could work, if every new season. You get ur banned removed. So instead of Perma ban, its 'Season ban'.

No. Absolutely not. Riot already tried unbanning players, and 95% of people just got banned again. It's not worth risking that again, for the few people that truly have reformed.

The same would happen with a seasonal ban.

I don't want to vote because you aren't dumb, just mis/uninformed. There is a huge difference.

Also u wont get banned unless it occurs more than once, they dont care if i happens once, they care when u do it almost every game. but yes u are completely right, riot is banning the people that react, they dont ban the cause just the effect.

I feel your pain, dealing with teammates can be really frustrating and trying at times. Unfortunately Riot does not care how difficult your situation was, they still expect you to behave like an angel.

That said, we are still responsible for our behavior. That is why it is important to find ways to communicate with teammates that will get them to listen to you and stop tilting. It's hard to do but very rewarding when done well. I've written an entire post about how to deal with teammates and not get banned, if you're interested in learning more feel free to read it. And let me know if you have any questions or points to discuss, I'm happy to talk about this issue.
