Perma Banned for Saying I'm going to report a Troll

My first game (game 2), our mid lane (Fizz) died, and our Jungle (Poppy) cleared a minion wave of his. This caused Fizz to repeatedly run into the enemy to die and feed intentionally. He did it to top, mid, and bot, as well as taking poppy's jungle as well. All I did. The ONLY thing I did, was ask the other team to report him as well, partly to get him to stop trolling so we could continue the game, and partly to get results. And I assume that he reported me for doing that. I STRONGLY feel I should no be reprimanded for any part of that. It is clear as day in the chat log. On top of that, I played respectfully and my best to help us win the game despite having a disadvantage that I had no part of.

My second game (game 1). In the first round of pick for "intended champion" I was first pick, and I had chosen Illaoi. Someone on my team banned Ilaoi as an unprevoked troll on me. So to rectify the situation, I picked another champion I Was good with, Udyr, and the same Troll locked in Jungle to troll me again. Throughout the game, he followed me around stealing my jungle and trying to tilt me. I admit he got my goat. But I remained on task in game and did my best to play to win. I was not in the wrong in this occasion, and others on the team supported me, and were upset with this troll player. It's again, just this problem player that ends up reporting me and I get "counter reported" after doing nothing wrong. I admit I was a little Flamey, but I was responding to someone trolling me, and his Duo partner being Toxic AF the whole game to back him up. I was innocent compared to him.

Another note would be that I got 0 warning. I did not get a "Your account got reported, be more careful" or anything of the sort. Before now, I was suspended for much the same reasons as I'm being banned now, I made a ticket to dispute it, but it was denied, and I've played many games until now, and I haven't gotten a single warning since.

IMPORTANT The level of progression was: CHAT RESTRICTION > 14 DAY BAN > PERMA BAN. I have seen other players get a lot more in between these. I admit my chat restriction was TOTALLY warranted. I flammed hard for a couple games, but then much like my now perma ban, my 14 day ban was very similar to these instances where I get counter reported for reporting someone who was ACTUALLY being a problem player. The problem is that when someone reports you for something, they get 3 options, and they're going to use all 3 no matter what you ACTUALLY did. I guarantee you that I got reported for offensive language, or racism, or AFK or something in my "Game 2" When in all actuality I did 0 wrong. Literally nothing.

As you can see, I don't believe I have anything here that's worth being permanently banned from the game, I've spent SOOOOO many hours on this account, probably over 10,000 games. Not joking. I've spent a lot of money on it. I LOVE league of legends, and I don't feel like this is a good indication how Riot treats its players who actually are a positive influence on the game. If I Can get a second chance out of this, I would be appreciative. Or to be pointed in the direction of where to go from here. Thanks for your time.

To be quite fair man, and let me just state that I'm sure to some extent the truth is always somewhere in the middle, but it seems to me that you did more typing and unnecessary banter in your games rather than playing the game.

This is an internet game, there is going to be trolls and "noobs" everywhere you go. What I have learned in experience is that a simple "mute" goes a long way. You won't have to see what he/she types for the rest of the match and you can focus on what you're doing, not only for yourself, but for your team.

Anyway, I hope the best to you, but there was a lot of questionable language you used in those 2 chat logs, if that was your very first offense or something then I could see why you feel the way you do. I'm not calling you out man, all I'm saying is that what you were typing seems to me a little more than just rage, there was a lot of hatred and offensive material that the rest of your team was seeing for the duration of the game, and to be honest you have no clue how your teammates felt about it too.

What's worse than 1 troll on the team, is 1 troll + 1 individual who spends more time with both hands on the keyboard instead of 1 on the keyboard and 1 on the mouse...

Just my 2 cents. :/

Hate speech (the homophobic slurs) is taken very seriously so easily results in escalated punishments, and trying to get others to mass report a player is harassment. Even that aside you were extremely negative throughout the entire game, and nothing said was even relevant to the game.

Mass reporting doesn't even do anything. Punishments are calculated per match, not report, so your 1 report is just as good as 8 more. It's pointless, and as I said already, nothing more than harassment. Just don't do it.

Most likely this permaban was the result of a long history of negative behavior, not just 2 games. Punishments are now dealt in 4 steps;

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

It takes 3 months for your next punishment tier to go down 1 step, and in extreme cases (such as hate speech and death threats) Riot may escalate you multiple steps. Most likely though this was coming after a 14 day ban, I'm guessing? Even minor offenses (this was not minor) will add up to the next punishment if you keep doing it.

It is best for you to just mute and report players that are trolling or being abusive. It's Riot's job to take care of them, and getting into a fight like this in chat just causes more problems for everybody, usually getting you reported more often than the person that triggered your behavior.

Edit: Side note; no amount of time or money gives you special privileges in this game or any other. It's best not to mention it because it gives the impression that you think you can pay off Riot to break the rules. Riot will not remove a punishment unless the error was on their part, sorry.

Does seem unreasonable. It seems the actual trolls are never the ones getting banned because I just see them constantly despite me and my team frequently reporting them.

U didnt get banned for reporting troll. U got banned for homophobia. Thats unacceptable and inexcusable ,especially considered situation. U dont get punished for calling someone gay, but for comparing their bad actions with homosexuality, implying that trolls are annoyance like homosexuals. Thats one of things that cant ever be forgiven. In this age hate speech is not tolerated
