Riot encourages Cyber Bullying and MOB MENTALITY to ban people based on NUMBERS ONLY NOT ACTUAL NEED

League of legends is an incredibly fun game and has grown a lot. Another thing that has grown is the community. Sadly though our community has expanded drastically in the wrong directions. People are encouraged to not talk in games. You used to be able to report people for refusing to communicate because it breaks the game leaves you missing out on a key part of team work and encourages solo rambos to ruin game after game. The simple fact that Riot would ban someone who didn't curse a single time and simply stated how they felt in game is sick and wrong. The fact that you can have someone go 0/10 at 5 min and you tell them to please stop feeding and play defensive could get you reported and banned but the fact that they are sitting afk at tower because they are so tilted they wont play seriously anymore goes completely undisciplined. Reports that ban people are supposed to be involving some form of racial, sexual, or violent nature. If you were to actively state that someone is performing an action that is negatively effecting your league experience whether they are cheating and using a lag spike system, trolling SHOULDN'T get you banned in any way shape or form as long as it is stated through calm communication. (Experiences that people inflict upon you that you SHOULD BE ABLE TO STAND UP AGAINST IN GAME THROUGH CHAT could be anything from the "its a game mentality nothing matters ill do as bad as i want" to telling people to kill them selves or direct insults towards a person because they showed that they care about the game and this makes it so that it is worth something because they are spending their finite time on something they enjoy) It is truly disturbing to see the frequency at which people are banned for simply communicating their suffering at the hands of another member of the community. Riot it is really time for you to step up and realize that the community doesnt want you banning people for saying

wow you must be cheating you are ruining the game for me please stop feeding I feel like im playing this game 1v9 i hate my life You are evil and you are enjoying the suffering of another human being

^ these are all normal statements of actual feeling and are completely safe communication is it the best NO but humans needs to be able to express when we feel wronged its natural to our species to cry out for help when being hurt by another and this report system encourages other people to see someone hurting and jump on them stomp them to the dirt till they are a bloody puddle of hatred THEN report them when they feel ganged up on and like they have no outlet of escape because trolls are validated as trolls and they should be ignored but we should be hurt and punished for us saying "Hey dude you are trolling me please stop this is a team game and you have been playing solo and not communicating at all for 15min and this is a ranked game!!!" Well guess what you were just chat restricted for speaking out against BAD BEHAVIOR AND THIS IS REPORTABLE BEHAVIOR WE WANT BANNED

  1. Die %%%%%%S! -- RACISM
  2. FUCK YOU %%%GOTS - HATE SPEECH
  3. KILL YOURSELF YOU DUMB ASS -VIOLENCE
  4. Score of 0/10/0 at 8min in the game and they say ITS JUST A GAME should be the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON TO BAN
  5. FUCK YOU BITCH WHY YOU DIE SO MUCH STOP BEING AGGRESSIVE YOU FUCKING DUMB ASS PIECE OF SHIT - VERBAL ABUSE/HARASSMENT(WHICH IS NOT THE SAME THING AS SAYING You have died 10 times in 10 min please play safer you are tilting me) <-- safe way to communicate number 5

You may think omg he is dumb he thinks racists arent as bad as someone who says the game is only a game so it has no meaning, but you are wrong because the one who is racist is a single problem but the spread of that mentality that its just a game encourages people to ruin games over and over and SUPPORT the ruining of games through bad play habits like being a solo player and he person who says its just a game generally creates a mob mentality game where the people/person who care about the game as more then that mentality suggests are ganged up on and told they are to weak too play this game. (which is completely unfair and sick and wrong considering we are all mortal creatures and we live in a world ruled by corruption and the ONLY escape most of us have is pretending we are these magical heroes who can make a difference in life when in reality we are all fucked and are slaves)

Both verbal toxicity and gameplay toxicity ruin games. They're equally problematic. Most folks that have shared their chat logs here say a great deal more than "Please stop feeding." And if they were punished for just that one line (or similar), I would be surprised. Most players that get punished following the criteria you set (criticizing poorly performing players) continue calling the player bad, feeder, and etc. without offering any sort of advice that might be helpful, including "hug the turret."

Still, if that player were intentionally trying to lose the game, the chances of chat affecting his efforts would be astronomically low. So, any criticism of said player would be at best, neutral, and at worst harassment. Criticism of someone who is "just having a bad game" would still fall into that same spectrum.

Actually if you see a punished persons chatlog, its always much more then "youre 0/8 stop feeding" lol

But they 100% never ban anyone for sharing their sentiments, they ban you if said sentiments are meant to berate another player repeatedly. The key word here being repeatedly. Its fine to just say "dude that was a noob move" in 1 game, but it becomes a problem when you make it almost a habit. And if riot truly promoted this, this entire subforum wouldnt exist

The reason we much rather say just dont talk is because your exponentially more likely to say something toxic in chat when youre already on tilt, even if its just the anger talking

The troll has to get banned and so do the people who are spewing hate/sexist/prejudiced/etc.. speech and harassing and flaming their teammates.

Everyone is responsible for their actions and everyone faces consequences for what they do.

The punishment system is mostly fair. Minor offenses get lesser punishments, and major offenses get larger punishments. Repeated minor offenses stack up, resulting in larger punishments if they are continued....

The policies are fair. maybe some of the execution on them could use some work, but not too much work. Players are only very rarely punished in error.

Edit: also your title is very misleading. Riot does not do that, and it would probably be helpful to you in getting help with whatever problem you are facing if you stopped making inflammatory and argumentative remarks about Riot.

No, people who don't understand civil conversation are encouraged to not talk in games, because they get banned and don't understand why. They're either playing dumb, or really are just plain dumb most of the time. On top of that, they also happen to have egos that can't be challenged by anonymous strangers online, so they tend to get into flame wars without realizing that they're breaking the summoners code. So we just tell them, don't talk. They've clearly decided that they can't be in the wrong, and they have such a lack of self awareness that it would be best if they just don't talk at all.

True. How about this: Mute-all.

Don't care, because Riot Games don't. Why should you? Mute them all and let this single-player-like heaven play it out.

why not both?

I never had any issues with that. I love to give my team good feedback if they play great, and I sometimes also tell my team that it plays badly, mostly for emotional relief. But I am always doing it in a neutral way, without insults or flaming. "You are playing bad" is an opinion, and not reportable. "You are playing like dogshit, your mum will pay for this tonight, now go uninstall" on the other hand, well... Basically it's all about if you can talk about your feelings with some sort of respect and social intelligence.
