Can I get banned for custom maps

So recently I downloaded a custom map and I want to know if I can get banned or something if riot finds out will i get banned?

No, as long as it does not modify your physical gameplay client in any way, or give you an unfair advantage, you should be okay.
If it's strictly a retexture, you'll probably be okay. If it has new models that might give you an advantage, or if the textures contain strategic information (tower range, flashable walls, etc), I wouldn't risk it
Actually, I would stay far, far away from custom map skins. I honestly am not sure if they allow or ban these right now, but they seem super risky to me. A custom champion skin I don't really see as necessarily giving a competitive advantage of any sort. But map skins could feasibly be made to indicate turret ranges, dragon/baron attack ranges, or have indicators for specific positions to ward most efficiently. I'm not sure if something like this is out there right now or not, but if it showed up and became something heavily used by players, I feel like Riot would pretty much have to act on it. At which point, using any client that supports custom map skins could put you at risk.
Yeah, this is kind of a lot of what-ifs and a degree of paranoia. But IMO, the risks far outweigh the benefits.
